 Your dehydration issues are self-induced.

It is dangerous and stupid to be in the heat without adequate hydration.
You are a danger to yourself and to everyone in your outing.

You KNOW better.  Your health issues are not as related to WLS as you would like others to think.

I would refuse to exercise with anyone who did not prepare and take care of themselves.  I have enough work caring for myself, I don't need the responsibility of having to get someone else to safety due to poor planning.

I understand that my dehydration issues are self induced , we all get caught up in the fast pace life i'm sure 90% here do ..Same goes for me missing  taking my vitamins, if i miss one  dose  my back starts burning..lack of calcium i'm assuming..Thats how important it is to think far ahead before considering wls.. It's more than a self inducing issue..My body would not cramp up if i missed one dose of vitamins before wls, heck a person could live for more than 5 dyas withou****er if stranded somewhere theres no water to drink. Not if you've had wls..Think really hard before considering wls..Just Sayin

I don't usually get upset/angry with people for their ridiculous beliefs. . .backed up with NO conclusive evidence. . .but WOW!!

Stop spouting such nonsense.   You do NOT get a "cramped up body" from missing one dose of vitamins DUE TO WLS!!!!  Total drivel!!

Even those of us who have had wls need to miss multiple doses of vitamins for our body to be depleted to the point of having a physical "consequence".

Now. . .we have to work harder than non wls people to get our levels up again if we let them get depleted after wls, but you DON'T get reactions like you're saying after missing one dose. Stop putting out misinformation to newbies.

Thank you.

The biggest issue I see that isn't thought through enough for some folks is the fact WLS will NOT cure any mental disorders/depression you may have. For some it may help, for many it won't.. and for those, they will fixate on whatever changed to shift blame as needed rather than address the real issue underneath.

Yep. Every once is a while Wendy surfaces with one of these posts, basically blaming WLS for everything. A really thorough pre-op psych eval was definitely in order here.

I usually can appreciate "Think before you have WLS" posts, but not in this context...

While I agree that you should really think about what you are doing before WLS, This is really bad information for newbies.  (I still consider myself a newbie). I also don't like to bash other people. If you are diabetic and don't take your insulin...you will have a problem.  If you are on medication for mental illness and don't take it ......you will have a problem. So not drinking enough fluid.....you will have a problem.  You simply can not blame poor planing on your part on WLS.  You know how the saying goes"piss poor planning on you part..........."

And btw if you dehydrate yourself before WLS you would have the same problems.

Every time I read one of your posts where you state that you wish you never had WLS even though it seems that none of your issues are related to your surgery and in fact it would seem would be improved, like your heart problems, I always wonder if you would prefer to be morbidly obese?  It almost seems like you miss being heavy or else why would you bemoan a surgery that has helped you lose your excess weight and keep it off despite yourself, from what you say. As far as dehydration, it doesn't take much to prevent that.  Like others I carry a case of bottle water with me everywhere I go in my car.  I drink about a gallon of fluids a day.  Yes, I use the bathroom often.  It takes about 2 minutes of time.  Big deal.
