one week post op how much to.eat?
RNY on 09/10/12
At one week I could only eat 2oz of everyting and here I am 3 weeks post op and I can still only eat 2oz. If I try to eat more I throw up. You have to take your time eating and stop when you feel full. Everyone is different.

Foot amounts vary somewhat between surgeon's. My surgeon has a protocol of 2 oz per meal through around 5-6 months, then up to around 4 oz. Best to just ask your surgeon though. DAVE

Just because the doctor says you can have 4 ounces of food does not mean your body will be able to handle that much at one time. Treat your new system like the new born baby that t is and take your time. You will be able to eat more as time goes by and losing weight from not eating is exactly what you want to happen now.
it all varies. i was between 1/4-1/2 a cup or whenever i felt full (which i never did, but sometimes got pressure or another tell that i needed to stop). i was to 'eat' the soft foods for 3 meals, and have 3 protein shakes or protein snacks (which were all given on a list)
