Needing help with RNY
Mine was a laproscopic RNY and was in the hospital overnight (about about 18 hours), was driven home by a friend, then stayed alone with no problems. Different friends either called or took turns coming in to see me over the next 3-4 days, but I really took care of myself with no problems. But I had absolutely no complications. If you must be alone, I'd recommend having someone on call or having a friend drop in at least once a day to check on you. You can't predict how you will feel, really ... but the pain medications help alot!!! Good luck.
I needed help for about two weeks---but I was REALLY big, and my DS was done open. I wasn't really all that mobile pre-op, either.
Given your BMI, I have to ask if you've considered the DS for yourself. The DS has the very best long-term, maintained weight-loss stats for patients of any size, but especially so for those of us with a BMI greater than 50. It's also got the best stats for resolving or preventing co-morbs like diabetes and high cholesterol.
