Followup on Support Group-Culpeper, VA
Hi all,
I only got one response on my survery so I am seriously thinking about contacting the library for space for a group. Once we are up and running and we have a fair amount of folks, I will approach the Wellness center again. I have had groups at libraries with great success. I will keep you posted.

Hey there. I really need a support group close to home. I've written to you before. I need some motivational help and the support group my Dr has is in Herndon which is fine but they meet on Monday nights, same time my daughter has softball and the group in Woodbridge meets on Thursday evenings, again same time as softball and now the same time as the class I teach at church.
I feel the enemy is trying so hard to make me fail. 3 weeks post-op and I'm getting depressed

Hi there,
It is always hard to find a meeting time that is appropriate for everyone and I know you know this. I don't think anyone is trying to prevent you from going. I think it just isn't in the schedule. However, there is no reason why you and I can't get together occationally and just share and support each other until things get rolling. I can't promise that the majority of people will be available on the nights you are.
We are a strange lot. I have been doing support groups for over seven years of my 12 year journey and I have bent over backwards, willingly, to make things easy and accessible to as many folks as possible but it doesn't ways work out.
Post op depression at your stage is common. Many times, a lot of the times, it is a hormonal imbalance. For some reason, we go wacko after surgery. Give yourself a break. You are still healing and your body is trying to adjust. Do something nice for yourself. You are worth it!

Thanks again. When I said the enemy, I was speaking in spiritual terms .
It's just my luck when the meetings happen. I am going to go tonight and see what the Woodbridge group is like. I'll just have one of my friends take my daughter home.
I did feel better last night after walking on the treadmill for 2 miles.
