Congratulations on your surgiversary - I was 8 years out last month too but unlike you,  my journey has been been fairly simple and successful ...

I hope your future years are easier for you with more ups than downs!

Can you tell me about the weight loss after your revision? How much did you regain and how much loss after revision? I had RNY in 04' I just had laparoscopic RNY (I think) revision on 6/25/12. I'm at 6 weeks tomorrow and have lost 40 pounds. I originally gained 134 pounds back of my original weight though. I was told that the weight loss may slow or not be as significant. My doc didn't tell me that though so now I worrying. I am having a harder time with the revision in some areas though..I don't regret the revision but I maybe would have thought twice if the loss is minimal.

i think from what i have gone through that a revison is slower than a first time surgery - my revision i was weighing 227 and got down to 108 you have to remember i am 5' tall so that was heavy.... i have maintained to 130 to 140 still wearing size 8 or 10 so i am comfortable where i am right now...

I was 390 at my 1st RNY and I'm 5'3" so I can defintely agree with you on that . I was 334 at revision so I was just wondering what you experience was. I know everyone is different but I have been hearing that the loss is not as significant for some. My doctor never mentioned that so I was a little disappointed because it wasn't discussed and I feel worse this time around like with the nausea and fatigue...kinda made me think twice. I know its not a magic cure but I am hoping for a significant loss to allow me to be able to learn from my mistakes and do better this time around. Thanks for your story or your journey.

Friday was my 8 year surgerviseray... well revision surgery and believe me it has not been a walk through the park...

I am happy to answer any questions regarding surgery or revision or plastic survery...

I do not regret having a revision or my first surgery 13 years ago...

I have made a lot of friends on the way and been through my share of ups and downs...

For those just now starting the journey ASK questions ASK people that have had surgery and are further out than 5 years believe me most will tell you that it has not been a walk through the park.

but the friendships I have made through all these years are so worth it.
Well, I'll be nine years post-op come December, and it really HAS been a walk in the park. (*grin*)
