Would You Tell Them, What's in Your Recipe Before Eating It???

Today a big event just happened.. started at 8am, The Tree Removal crew are here to cut down a huge tree on the side of my home., They (all 5) men were taking a break and they are workin up a sweat, so I went outside and offered all of them some of my black bean ( shhh, black bean)  peanut butter Brownies..They accepted with smiles and said they are delicious..

One thing I did not tell them is that they are made with black beans, this is how i make mine to get fiber in my diet..I always make my recipes with some kind of beans, f/f black beans , f/f refried beans, Garbonzo beans, red kidney beans. I am following the F Factor diet. every meal has some kind of beans in it.. actually can make some pretty amazing recipes with this diet plan, and NO i am not passing gas all the time..My body may be use to it now. Started it way before my wls.I started to change my diet right away after my Open Heart Surgery.Just couldnt get that portion size under control is why I had wls.. Well im getting off track so back to where i was about the black bean brownies..

The Black Bean brownies had 3 ingredients. Chocolate cake mix , 1 can of black beans and a very little peanut butter. I put the black beans in the blender with little water from the same can. Would 'you' tell  those tree removal workers the Brownies were made with black beans??.. before they tried them..I made some last Christmas and hardly anyone tried  them as I did tell everyone they were made with black beans, most people would goo   EEEWWWWW, when you hear black beans in brownies..Heck even I would before i changed my eating habits and my mental attitude towards healthy foods... BUT when you actually try them they are delicious...

I  wonder if i should tell people what all my recipes are made of in the future....Like all my healthy ingredients..Lots of people still eating all that junk food..I just try to get people to eat healthier.. Seems it always going to be a fight / fight situation.

Now with all that said, please if you would take the time and tell me how your Life has been  P  O  weight loss...how are you conversating with others about healthy/ non healthy foods with others? Thanks so much.. Anyway I'm smiling today because those crew workers liked my BLACK BEAN BROWNIES.. think i got a 5  rating on them.. Well  , Wendy

I wouldn't tell them.  We just had this same discussion about mayonnaise chocolate cake and lots of people said they wouldn't even try it since it grossed them out.  That's not a health food or anything just a discussion because I brought in cake for my friend who is leaving work today so we were talking about cake.

I don't talk about my diet to people, no one cares, so I don't discuss it.  Most people I know are trying to lose weight and I am sure they think wls makes it so easy for me.  If they only knew the truth.

I love me some mayo, but I cannot eat a cake knowing that it is in there.  Yeah I know its nuts, but thats what my freind said who made it, her whole family wouldn't eat it just because they heard it had mayo in it.  I know mayo is eggs, oil and vinegar, and I will make chocolate cake with those exact ingredients.  So I know its nuts to not eat it if its in there.  lol

5 men working up a sweat are probably not going to care about your beans.

If I had my neighbour over I might say, "yeah and guess what they are made with beans!". But , no I wouldn't go around conversing about what you put in all of your recipes.
If people care they normally ask.

Think I started telling my ingredients also because some are allergic to some foods nowadays

People with food allergies will generally not eat anything without asking what is in iit.

I have made black bran brownies and could not even taste them because I could smell the beans in that and it made me gag.  I don't eat beans.

I also now don't eat brownies no matter what they are made with because I avoid baked goods.

This post made me smile, since most folks who are not used to a high fiber diet like you are will experience major abdominal distensions, flatus and more! I bet these guys don't know what "hit them!"

When I make rice and beans I cook the beans in the crockpot all day. I am a vegetarian and I uses meat crumble substitute and nobody has ever noticed the difference. That dish is one of the highest requested dishes that I make, people love it, and its odd nobody has ever questioned why I am eating it when i dont eat meat lol.
