Whoa, Nelly! He's a sick puppy, isn't he?
First of all, welcome!
Second...research all FOUR options before making any decisions. DS, Vertical Sleeve, RNY and LapBand. Personally, I would run as far from the lapband as possible. Very poor long term results and very high complications.
Browse all the forums here and ask all of your questions. Don't rush into anything. This is a very serious decision to make and you only want to have to make it once. Think twice, cut once!

Hi Bryan,
The lapband is The Worst. I capitalize it because of the enormity of the horribleness of it. Seriously, read the Revisions forum here on Obesity Help. The bulk of revisions are FROM lapband to another form of weight loss surgery.
The band nearly killed me and I wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE, ever. The statistics are pretty easy to find... Google~ lapband complications or lapband statistics, etc.
Even with the most skilled surgeon, the chances of having to have a subsequent "corrective" surgery is almost a given. Not many people get away with "one and done" with the lapband.
There are much better options out there.

Hi, Bryan!
I'm amost 9 years postop, so feel free to ask if you have specific questions. Don't PM me, though, because I won't be able to answer you.
And if you want to know more about the band, come over to the band forum.
