No idea. I get them around my left eye... just little round, white bumps. Almost like pimples but not nearly as easy to get out. They don't 'pop'. I really have to use a needle and kinda dig them out (I know, gross, right?!?) When they come out they are truly very hard little balls. I think they're calcium, I guess they could also be cholosteral but they are yucky. My dr has ever been especially concerned. When I asked for her to remove them once she referred me to a dermatologist because of their location to my eyelid.
Good luck! Check out webmd and then make a long list of questions for your doctor!

Calcium deposits where??
I know if you aren't processing calcium correctly, the body can start storing it in the wrong places, like the kidneys or eyeballs, which is serious. There are some co-factors that help calcium get used correctly, like vitamin D, K, strontium, magnesium, silica, etc.
You need a specialist if you are storing it in the wrong places to find out why, and treat it aggressively.
