The Igloo I have in my car is hotter than hell inside. I keep snacks in there for when i am out all day runing errands.. they spoil fast. I cant think of a specific type of container to put in my car for snacks that will keep them from spoiling..I need them to last a couple of weeks at least..I dont like to grab foods every single day from my home.. Is everyone P O grabbing foods for everytime they are out running errands all day too? Something similiar to making a row bag lunch for school when we were younger... Must be some kind of container that will keep my foods  from spoiling

Right now i have some raisins and rice cakes and fig bars, tuna, fiber crackers, just a few items listed.. please help me out with ideas, thanks a bunch..also dont want to invest in a $100 mini frig for the car..how does styrofoam cooler work in the car during the summer for food snacks?

With the humidity bad as it is along the Texas coast, I couldn't keep food in my car unless I did get an expensive fridge.  However, this is not something I would do even if I had that fridge because, for me, it's very important to be "present" while eating.  In my heavier life, I would drive and eat because it was like those foods didn't "count".  It was too easy to mindlessly eat too much as well because of course I had to pay more attention to driving. It's just like eating mindlessly in front of the t.v..

Thia is not to say I believe this is the case with you. It just reminded me of what I used to do.  Do you get that hungry that you need to have food on hand while you are running  errands? Maybe you need to eat more protein to help keep you fuller between meals.  Just my thoughts, for what it's worth!

I don't think there is much that would keep your foods safe in a car for a couple of weeks at a time. if I know I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling and will be in the car all day, I prepare what I want the night before, leave it in the fridge then grab it the next day as I leave and then throw it into my container/cooler. Are you literally in the car all day EVERY day? or do you just leave it in there so when it does happen there's something already prepared and you don't have to think about it.

You can buy a styrofoam cooler at walmart  for like 1.99 yay works GREAT !  Dont forget to buy a few large freezie-thingies )( like bricks) you can freeze and then they keep Ur cooler cool all day .

Alternatively , you CAN use free ice from motels n hotels to cool Ur stuff... but its wet n messy

Instead of keeping foods in a hot car I would sugeest keeping compact foods in your purse.  If I was in your shoes I would have either ostrim sticks, mozzarella sticks, raw almonds, and/or tuna/wild salmon packets(no draining required) with cucumber slices. They take up so little room.  All of these taste good at room temp.  also it is possible to get a good protein rich salad at almost any supermarket that has a salad bar or a ready made meal(as or little as you want) at Whole Foods(no waiting required).

I would think that there's not much that would last that long in a car. Maybe set up a container in the fridge with the snacks you like to take. Then you can grab them when you head out. And if you forget there's always places like 7-11 that have hard boiled eggs, string cheese and tuna pouches. Just a thought
