I love love love taking a little bit of this and a little bit of that and coming up with something new and/or different ... I love asymmetry, symmetry and odd ... be it clothes/food/whatever ....

In that spirit I woke up early this morning and after my morning run ..5.5 miles this morning in good timing too WOOT this old gal who 5 years 4 months ago prior to my WLS could not even make it up a flight of stairs proper....

I wanted to put a cool summer dress on and grabbed a strapless number totally inappropriate for the workplace ... but with just a little bit of this and a little bit of that in mind I grabbed a small bolero jacket belonging to something else and just tossed it on ...WOOT ... after work I can just take the jacket off and do my thang... hopefully the sun will shine bright and warm today... please don't let it rain ..but if it does it is okay too...

Making my duds workplace appropriate .... I love coordinates and coordinating and accessorizing ... I swear I can wear the same outfit ten different ways for a new look each time...

and in the same spirit of a little bit of this... and a little bit of that I threw together a can of tuna in water in my skillet ... dumped in a couple tablespoons of habichuelas rosadas (pink kidney beans) added a couple tablespoons of diced tomatoes ... added one tablespoon of brown rice (this runner NEEDS complex carbs) ...added TWO tablespoons of sliced jalapeños and sprinkled with chili powder and a tiny bit of curry powder ... YUM YUM YUM awesome b-fast and for lunch too ... with an apple on break I am good to go ... awesome protein... low cal and totally filling and tasty ..oh and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE SPICY ... LET THE SPICE MAKE MY MUSTACHE SWEAT PLEASE lol

Of course I took a pic of my meal for my digital empowerment journal "A picture a day keeps the pounds and the inches away"... this was easy and DELICIOUS and one of my faves... I make it all the time on the run....

and now I am at work wondering how the heck did Monday come so quick ... it seems like yesterday was Friday ... I had an AWESOME weekend .. hey so much activity and mindful eating and living and guess what? I lost 2.5 pounds and I am not even trying to lose weight .. I am trying to maintain yet my scale loves to fluctuate lower than higher and I like it like that...

IT IS MONDAY ... TOO SOON ... LET THE MONDAY MADNESS BEGIN LOL...

Me at work...

I did a closeup to change my avie...and tried out white eyeliner lol... all I have on is eyeliner, mascara and MAC Studio Fix face powder ... I cannot deal with foundations never could ..I have such oily skin that by end of day you could fry an egg on my face especially my nose..

And because I will never forget my before as I compare it to today ... this is my before and after empowerment collage for this day... fighting morbid obesity one.day.at.a.time ... it is a journey for life and I am living all my moments in it to the fullest ... embracing joy over misery ... My friend once said there is joy and there is misery in equal measures in this world ... I just embrace joy and make it happen to me ... this were the words of a cancer survivor and I CHOOSE TO LIVE BY THEM!!!

I AM NOT TRYING TO BE  BOASTFUL (judge me NOT) I AM HUMBLE AND GRATEFUL... 5 years and 4 months post RNY gastric bypass surgery ... maintaining seamlessly with five co-morbitities in full remission and off all meds since surgery ... no more diabetes, no more gastroesophageal reflux, no more hypertension, no more dyslipidemia, no more sleep apnea.... no more shortness of breath ... no more impaired mobility... no more wheezing on exertion... no more seeping when coughing or even laughing hard... no more chafing oh I would never trade health and mobility or anything in the world ... is is about looks? I was one awesome looking plus sized woman and I look just as good today ... ALWAYS DRESSED WELL and ALWAYS groomed and coiffed myself .. I believe women should take care of their appearance no matter the size or age ... but then that is my opinion as instilled in my by my mom (r.i.p)...

THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME TO SHARE....  I write daily to encourage myself and/or perhaps one other on the journey ...it is worth it! even if it takes getting back on track!

You look cute as always, I got eyelash extensions last week at Ulta and they are hanging strong, this is the beginning of week two.  I love them because I don't have to wear so much eye makeup and they are really pretty.  I wear the little sweater and jackets to make my clothes work appropriate also, all my summer dresses or t-straps and maxi this year.  I love the maxi style, its my favorite.  It makes me feel tall and thin.  Short does nothing for me.  And no amount of support hose will help my knees no matter what.

Keep up the great work!

I had my eyelashes done once... the long-wear individual ones ..I loved them and I swear they stayed on like for-ever and then I just needed them off as I do a lot of swimming and there were like 8 pieces on one eye and 5 on the other that just won't come off ... it was really aggravating me ... but  I loved loved loved how they looked and felt before they got old... I am glad you had them done ... it saves a lot of time in the morning and one does not have to bother with eye makeup... I did not use any eye makeup at all and was told not to when I had them...

LOL ...my knees can definitely relate ... they shall live in hoses the remainder of their days LOL ... I love love love maxi's too ... I wear lower heels (or should I say lower high heels) when I wear maxi's too...

I had the individual ones that I could wear for an extended time, paid a good penny and wore them until they came off on their on... I only did this once in my lifetime.

I guess we could certainly cause damage to our lashes if we try to pry those off by ourselves without going have them professionally removed I would think..  I only tried them once ... they looked and felt real good for quite some time but when I wanted all the remaining of them to come off ... and they were refusing to come off I went to the place where they were put on to have that tended to... it was an awesome one time experience for me... I swim a lot and I felt like I had extra artifact on my eyes when I swam ... like blinders LOL... but then I am goofy like that....

I hope Heidi chimes in with her experience... I am certain they have better products now than when I did mine a couple years ago...
