I'm going on a big family beach trip next week (we do this every other year with my hub's siblings and families) and I decided to tell my two sisters-in-law (who are both very overweight) about my recent band surgery, since we were planning menus and grocery shopping and whatnot.
I got NO reaction. Not even a "wow" or a "what's it like." I don't expect a medal or anything, but... They just glossed over it and went back to discussing what kind of peanut butter my little niece and nephew like. WTF????

Went to the ER last week, had a cardiac write-up because I was having chest pain. This week, got the results of the CT scan and I have a enlarged lymph node on my aortopulmonary window which is basically between the aorta and pulmonary artery. It's 5 times bigger than it should be and misshapen to the point that it's no longer in the spot it should be. NO clue what's causing it, but the fatalist in me is convinced I have some kind of cancer and I'll never see my kids grow up.
So **** all of you who aren't going through this. I hate the world.

My surgeons office has been telling me since last Friday that they had not received my paperwork from my PCP's office. I keep calling my PCP's office staff and they say yes we faxed but we will fax it again...finally after 3 hours today..the lady at the Surgeon's office said "Oh here it is", Ok never mind...now I have bothered my Dr. and they faxed it at least 3 times...and then this person at my surgeon's office just blows it off after 4 days of long distance phone calls back and forth from my house to the PCP to the the Surgeon...WTF..I am a nurse and if I did this...the Drs I have contact with would reach down my throat and pull my intestines out my mouth...
Then they call me and say I did'nt give them a signed consent to send after my medical records..I try to tell them that they have it, I signed and faxed it myself...the same girl gets really huffy with me and says well this one is for our office...my God..how stupid are you????? Then they call and say it was already sent...no apology or anything...and that now all they need is my psych eval..and I know they will never get it because they are too stupid to know that I signed a medical release..so now I am going to have to travel 2 and 1/2 hours to deliver the psych eval myself...Jesus...how do these people keep their jobs???
I will never get a date...I give up:(

About six years ago I bought a riding mower. Paid about $1400 for the sucker, and the first summer it was in the shop more than it was at my house. Second year, same thing, and I was firing off letters to Troy-Bilt every other day, it seems. Eventually the warentee ran out and I got someone else to work on the damned thing, and---like magic!---it worked for A WHOLE SUMMER.
In year four, I moved. Found what I *thought* was a good mechanic to work on the POS. In years five and six, I've had to have SOMETHING done to the POS nearly every time I've mowed the grass. So far this year, I've rerplaced the blade, had the carburetor cleaned---twice!---replaced a tire, and the battery (for the third or fourth time).
I think I've spent more on maintaining this TROY-BILT POS than I did in buying it.
I need to mow my grass today...
