OT Repost: Tattooed? Share your story
Meet Cesario and Horatio. I designed both of them and adore them. I had Cesario (the cat) done while studying abroad in Cambridge six years ago. It was the day after I'd seen a performance of Twelfth Night, so that's how he got his name. Horatio (the dog) was done just last year, the day after the journal I work for published our issue on Hamlet studies. He is a sheltie just like my real-life pup, and is leaping through the air like super-dog.
Future plans include the back of both shoulders. One will be an image from Shel Silverstein's book Runny Babbit, and the other will be a phoenix. Silverstein's work has always held a very meaningful place in my heart. The phoenix is a symbol of reinvention and renewal; a reminder that even when things burn down, something new and beautiful can emerge.
