SLEEP STUDY
Yes, and I had to do a second one. The first one, I went in not knowing what to expect and I was uncomfortable and wide awake most of the night. The tech said I fell asleep for about 30 minutes total so they couldn't do anything.
For the second one, I had my PCP prescribe something to help me sleep.

Yes, during my sleep study I didn't hit REM until the tech put me on the CPAP (it was a split study, half without CPAP, half with). The way she explained it, the apneas were occurring as my body tried to enter stage 3, so I was constantly "bouncing up" to stage 1 or 2. No wonder I was so exhausted all the time! The CPAP has made a world of difference for me; I don't have any obstructive apneas at all now.
