Home from surgery on Thursday, am I doing this right?

Think of a 2-liter bottle of soda. Your old stomach was about the size of that bottle and your new pouch is about the size of the cap on that bottle. For my first weeks after surgery, I used a shot glass to measure my portions. That tiny new stomach is like a newborn baby. It needs very little food to feel full.
Every day that stomach will grow a little. By about six months it will be the size of an egg and at a year the size of a large egg. The full grown pouch will hold quite a bit of food. Every day your pouch will hold a little more food. Every day you can increase the food you eat slightly more. Concentrate on protein first. Get in lots and lots of water but not with your meals.
Just relax and let the surgery do its job. Get in protein, water, exercise, vitamins and sleep. Enjoy the honeymoon period. I strongly believe in daily weighing. I think tha****ching the scale go down was one of the greatest thrills of my life. The average weight loss in the first year is 100 pounds. By this time next year you should have reached that goal. Enjoy the journey.

Yes you are doing it right so far.
Your insides are still healing. Your stoma and intestines are probably a bit swollen too so you cannot put much in before you feel really full. I remember being at your stage and drank a protein shake and felt like I had overeaten at a Thanksgiving Dinner.
It does get better and you will eat more. Not sure about the sounds you are hearing though. Some folks still talk about their noisy insides.
