Duodenal switch... Scared. Any DS'rs...
I researched all the weight loss surgeries for literally YEARS before deciding on the DS. Now I wish I had gotten the DS all those years ago. At 2 1/2 years out from surgery, I have normal appetite, normal meals, normal weight and normal health. I basically had the surgery to get healthy but it has enhanced my life and mobility without interfering with my lifestyle.
My main advice to you is to go to DSFacts.com and choosing a very experienced surgeon. You have already had one surgery so make this your last one.

I'm not sure where many people get that once you have the DS, you will no longer feel hungry. I am almost 2 years post-op and sure at the beginning I didn't feel hunger, but now, heck yeah I get hungry. If I don't eat something every 2 hours, my stomach is rumbling like crazy and I feel like I haven't eaten anything in days. Those hunger pangs came back in full force for me at around 6 mths out. Also, I wouldn't count on your body stopping at the weight you want it to. For 5'8", I seriously doubt you'll stop around 220. One of my good friends is 5'8" with a DS and she's at 150 right now and holding steady. I'm 5'3" and at 168 right now, but still losing (very slowly mind you). You also have to keep in mind that even though you can drink and eat at the same time with the DS, you can't drink absurd amounts with your food. When I order a drink at a restaurant, I drink maybe 1/4th of it during my entire meal, otherwise I get way too full and can't eat my food. At almost 2 years out I can eat a "normal" sized plate of food whi*****ludes a small piece of chicken and 2 sides. I can't add in dessert or a salad or appetizer or anything of that nature. Also, we have to eat SLOW (or at least I do). It takes me a good 45 minutes plus to eat what I just listed, otherwise my stomach feels like it's going to explode. Not a good feeling! I wait atleast a minute in between each bite. Just some things to think about for the long term.
The difference for me is that pre-op, I was ALWAYS HUNGRY. Post-op, I have what I think of as 'normal' hunger, and it's satisfied by a 'normal' amount of food. There are days when I don't get hungry at all, and those days suck---because if I don't force myself to eat, I get sick, but eating when you have no appetite is a misery.
