Almost 7 Years Post Op / Needing Diet Advice

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in quite some time.  I am almost 7 years post op and at my lowest I had lost about 140 pounds.  Granted, at that weight loss I was about 5-10 pounds too light.  However, I am now about 15 pounds more than where I should be and this has all come on in about the last year and a half.

The problem now is that I know I'm gaining weight fast and I can't seem to get myself to do anything about it.  I'm getting married next month, will be wanting to have a baby shortly after that so I'd like to be at an optimal weight, and none of this has been motivation.  I'm not sure if it is the stress of everything that has me this way.

At any rate, I am looking for some diet advice to get me back on track.  If anyone has experienced this type of thing before and has found a diet that has seemed to work for them to get them back on track and getting cleansed I'd really appreciate the input.

 Hi Kristy,

Cutting out excess simple carbs, liquid calories and excess snacks is the easiest/best bet.

If you want to scale back more -- you could replace some solid meals with protein shakes like you did in the beginning of your WLS journey.

How about exercise?  If you have gotten away from it, then I would encourage you to at least start walking 3 - 4 times a week...for 2 or 3 miles each time out.  Make it a good pace, too. (Not a stroll.)  Now, if you have been exercising all along, you may want to consider kicking it up a notch, or switching to something completely different.  (Muscle confusion, right?)

Focus and put yourself as a priority...as much of a priority as immediately following your surgery 7 years ago...and it will come off!   Good luck...and congrats on your upcoming wedding!
