thanks for the list, I will see if there is anything new I can add from you list but unfortunately a large majority of the list I either can't eat at all or will give me the same symptoms I already have.  I can't eat anything with Nuts, spices, dairy - even with lactaid pills, seeds, anything with fat is worse than with sugar.  I try to make my own protein shake but most of the time I get sick from the whey - I just recently heard that whey isolate has no dairy in it, so I am going to go buy some new protein powder and see if that helps because I love my protein shakes and protein hot chocolates - they each have 35-45 grams of protein.  Bars are almost impossible to find without any type of nuts or peanut butter in them

I do eat fruit and drink OJ, I do eat bagels and a few times per week eat egg sandwiches on a bagel, I eat french toast, I eat potatoes and rice with my fish and meats along with peas and corn.  I eat tuna a few times per week with some mayo but too much and I get sick.  I eat alot of chicken - all dark meat but no skin, I eat alot of pork with apple sauce, stuffed cabbage, on Sundays I eat hot dogs.  Once per week I eat spaghetti and meatballs.

I Really wish I could load on the dairy and fat but I can't.  I do on occasion and that is when the dumping starts or when I start to eat some cookies

WHen I went into the hospital in October for kidney stone surgery - I was there for 10 days and ate off the menu like a normal person - I didnt' bring a stash of stuff. In the 10 days I was there, I lost 10 pounds. When  I went back in November, my PCP had me go down to the cafeteria and get some stuff to keep in the room and also had me order a fourth meal that came at 9 pm, they do that for diabetics - she told them that I had to eat at night even though not diabetic. SO, I got a turkey sandwich, chips and a piece of fruit.  Atleast with the fourth meal and my snacks, I stayed the same that week.

See my post at the bottom of the page where I put it in time/date order.   I was replying to the whole thread, and did it at the 'next available space' at the bottom of the page.  Apparently, some people think this isn't correct protocol so I will add this note here to direct you there.......   ;-(

And H.B.  I did hit the 'reply' directly after the first post...and this is where this post ends up - default by system to the end of the current thread, where it should be.

Yeow.  Yep, what you have is what is known as dumping.  Not only that your body dumps your waste materials in a hurried manner, but that it does this because you are eating things with fat and sugar that "dump" directly into your small intestines without benefit of intrinsic factor, which generally gets added at the duodenum.  Once that sugar (glucose) gets into your small intestine, your pancreas goes into super overdrive and releases lots and lots of insulin.  This causes your body to try and process and store that glucose, but it does put a lot of stress on your organs, as your liver can't handle the sugar load and the body just lets it all "go."  I you keep eating sugary (especially) foods, you may end up with a condition known as nesidioblastosis.  Some of us get it without eating sugary foods.  This is the development of insulin-producing tumors (non-cancerous) in the pancreas that add to the gush of hormones trying to break down the sugars and fats in your food.  Trust me, you do NOT want to go there (or here, where I am).  There isn't a whole lotta stuff I can eat comfortably.  I can manage cottage cheese, greek yogurt (plain, plain, plain), some nuts, berries, salad greens, and most fish and meat.  NO (and I mean NO bread, rice, pasta, cereal, etc).  I can't eat half the stuff on the list provided by the other poster.  Bananas will totally knock me out -- way too much sugar.  Grape Nuts?  Make my blood sugar drop very badly.  I make a lot of soup -- basically meat and vegetables (no potatoes, no noodles, etc).  What I wouldn't give for a nice crunchy crusty piece of bread, but I know how sick it will make me.  You can eat fats - try to make them healthy.  Stay away from sugars.  Whole grains = sugar rocks with some vitamins.  I know this sounds crazy, but take a fiber preparation each day.  It will help to add bulk to your stools and you won't have to worry so much about gushing diarrhea.  If you've had a perforated colon, you most likely need the fiber anyway.  Do take care and stay away from sugar and refined carbs.  They can cause BIG problems for dumpers.

Rbb... eating fruit, pasta, bread, etc. can be causing problems for you as they convert to sugar and sugar = dumping.

Dark chicken/turkey has a higher fat content than white meat; skin of course has a lot of fat and these = dumping as well.

Have you tried using fitday.com or some such so you can create a pie chart that shows how much sugar, fat, etc. you are actually ingesting?  I almost think you are eating more than you think and that may be causing some of your distress.

Have you tried soy protein powder?  Have you tried eating a form of tofu...there are many out there, including tofu noodles to replace pasta.  Tofu 'yoghurt' or sour cream are alternates, as well as almond milk or coconut milk........

Separating your foods so that you are eating only proteins one meal, veggies another, might help.
Have you been tested for celiac disease as well?  You could look at the site www.celiac.com as well and perhaps find some alternate flour recipes that you could eat.  I frequently cook from there even though I don't have celiac disease.  I just chose not to eat the processed white junk like wheat flour....

Good luck and hope you find some solutions to your problem!

I was just asking about what peoples symptoms are for dumping.  I appreciate your time but I know all of this.  I have alot of complicated issues that I am dealing with.  I have no problems with fruits, breads or pastas - the only time pasta is a problem is if the sauce has spices or if there is somehow cheese in it.

Dark meat chicken also doesn't bother me at all either - it is high fat foods that bother me.

I Know I am eating alot but I have to - it is complicated but like I said if I don't eat a large amount of food, I will lose weight again - I weight myself everyday to make sure I weigh the same and if I lose anything, I have to be careful to not eat any less and possibly add even more calories.  I went into the hospital in the fall for 10 days and ate like a normal person and lost 10 pounds in 10 days.  So, yes  no I am not eating more than I think I just eat small amounts all the time.  IF I eat too much at one time, I am in excrutiating pain, so I know not to do that.

I can't use soy because it affects the thyroid and can't use almond because like I said before it is nuts.  Cant stand coconut

No celiac here been tested numerous times

Thanks for the help - I have to figure it out.

I really just wanted to know if anyone else dumped like me - just severe and profound diarhea and no other symptoms

I feel for you!  You have a problem that a lot of people want.  Go figure, eh?
I think most people have reactions to food at some times; yours just seem to be so much more extreme; I hope you can find a way to balance it all out.  It can be trying can't it?

I can eat some things (ie made a mean panna cotta recently) and not have a problem and the next time, it reacts differently and get dumping syndrome from it.  This last time, just sweating, cramping but no trips to the bathroom.....from what I can see a lot of people are like this on occasion.

Finding the right balance is a tricky thing; I hope you can find a good solution to your problems.
