dumping = what happens to you? TMI
Dumping for me..and yes, I still have it at nearly 10 yrs out, ...fast heartrate, cramps left lower abdoman, sweats, nausea, severe fatigue, have to lie down (if at all possible) 15-30 minutes. Sometimes have loose stools, but not usually.
I normally only dump if something sneaks up on me-like if something was pre-made and I couldn't read the label. Sugar alcohols get me way worse than natural sugar does. Any cereal/milk combo is a killer for me. Homemade ice cream will be a "forever never", I'm afraid.
I still get the "foamies" if I eat too quickly, or talk when I should have been chewing-some things never change!
The "foul" smell of gas/stool normally from undigested carbs. 20 minutes of true "diarrhea" seems like an awful lot (30+ yr nurse here), and could sure lead to dehydration, etc. You've told your doc about this-RIGHT?

We Can Do Hard Things
I don't get the full dumping anymore, since I am really careful what and how much I eat. But I do get partial dumping. If by mistake I get a little bit too much fat or carbs (and the "too much" varies from day to day) I may get nausea, with or without cramps. Some times really bad heart palpitation, or feeling lightheaded. Sometimes get really hot. There are times that I get very fast BM, but most of times the BM will happen in 2-6 hrs, and it is different that normal BM (foamy - very loose and gassy). Most of the time I also get a lot of gas and get really bloated for at least a day or 2.

I was giving the originator of this thread suggestions for health high calorie foods. If YOU can't eat them, then don't - just pick the ones you can eat.
She may be able to eat some of them; her situation is different than yours, as all our situations are different.
I am 2 years out from surgery, 5 lbs from my goal, have lost half my body weight, blah, blah...... I search many sites, have found and experiment with many alternate healthy foods, don't buy processed boxed junk, don't do fast food joints, avoid fats and bad carbs (bread, potatoes, rice, crackers, etc.). I convert recipes to wls recipes and feed these to my family; no harm done in them eating healthier as well.
I follow 'the rules' - no drinking after meals, eat high protein 'clean' foods, 5-6 planned meals, etc. Also follow the 5-5-5 rules, which most Americans haven't been taught.
And if you are interested, the 5-5-5 rule is good for everyone..... look at labels - don't buy it if the serving has more than 5 grams sugar or 5 grams fat; OK to buy if it has over 5 grams protein.
I like adding protein shakes to my daily routine; I buy protein bars that meet the 5-5-5 criteria, so although I am not an expert, I do believe I have a bit of knowledge on what I'm doing.
