martitalinda, love and bright light that you are, that you take responsibility and accountability for yourself is what makes the difference! No excuses or justifications, getting your bootay out there in the morning no matter what you feel like or are thinking- that to me is what is key. One day at a time, as you say...

So- my meal plan: protein shake every morning for breakfast, a small lunch of a salad with some chicken on it, Greek yogurt midafternoon, a dinner of primarily protein and veggies, another protein shake or a can of protein pudding later in the evening. And 3-4 Triscuits when I wake up at night. A handful of almonds every now and then, sometimes a slice of cheese, sometimes some airpopped popcorn. Lots of Sobe Lifewater.

I eat pretty much the same types of things every day- I like to keep it simple. Easier to follow that way.

Running 5 miles 5 days a week keeps my bootay saggy but flat and small. Spanx is a wonderful invention.

You will discover a sense of empowerment and peace you have never before experienced. You will come to believe you can overcome your challenges and find some joy in this world." Katie Jay

You got it Anne, no excuses or justifications ... and IF AND WHEN my mind wrestles with my body... when I just want to curl up under the covers and pretend that my running mates are not going to be at my door in a few  or when I just want to go home and crash instead of heading to the gym... all it takes is a mental travel down morbid obesity lane and remembering how my jacked up knees felt under my weight,,,how I could not go up a flight of stairs ... or how  short of breath I got with just a couple steps ... I remember at 3 months out getting on the threadmil for 2 minutes at the slowest speed and wanting to pass out ... and now I can and look for any 10 or 20K that I can run in ...when I think of all my limitations caused by morbid obesity ... when I look on my nightstands and all there is are vitamins and no other meds I JUMP UP with a prayer and a praise I JUMP UP TO ATTENTION AND AM ON MY WAY .... NO EXCUSES... OR JUSTIFICATIONS...

But then, you my dear running sista can relate also .... THANKS FOR SHARING!!

Thank you for sharing. Since I am 13 days post-op and on full liquids, the creativenesses in creating meals are limited. Anyhow, I am soaking up all the information so when I am cleared to eat solid foods again.

Boy, I am tired just reading your post :)  You are such a positive voice on here.  This morning I had a protein shake.  Lunch will be 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon, cheese on a bagel thin, dinner will be pork chops and cabbage, and apple sauce.  Sounds good?  oh, a protein shake at night to take my night meds which are many.  maria
