Eating Good in the Neighborhood....Shaking the bootay to move/lose/maintain...
What's for breakfast? Care to share? What are we planning to eat today? Maybe if I share my eats and you share yours we could enhance our selections and have a feast of good eating every day...
This journey is most definitely a one-day-at a time thing ... shoot I am not crediting my surgery type with all of it ... I AM TAKING FULL CREDIT for my part in it too ...
Eating Good and Moving Daily is a great part of it ... there are awesome menu items to have and it is so awesome what and when we can share and get tips from each other ... I have gotten awesome tips from ALL surgery types on here...
I have come to the realization that what my surgeon told me was very true ... He said he would take credit for the first 20-40 pounds and the rest was on me ... Oh I am very thankful for the awesome weight loss during the first 18 months .... I so needed to lose that chunk of weight to be able to enjoy much of the activities that I do today without my body hindering me and aching in my joints ... I also realize that if I want to maintain where I am comfortable and happy at I have to follow through ...
So five years out I know that when I wake up at 4:00 a.m. to go running with my running group friends I am soooooo NOT giving all the credit to my WLS ... I am giving credit to myself especially when I am out there galloping my arse off like an old pigeon toed horse because it gets my blood flowing and my mind rolling and it makes my body feel good ... and I LOVE TO RUN! and on the days that I am not feeling it I get a call from my friends and a rap on my door and I give myself a mental shot of Geritol and I am up and running along with them too ... when I notice that the best runner in the group is over 84 and he is fit-ter than I ... I just want to be like that when I grow older...
I am so NOT going to be giving all the credit to my weight loss surgery when I hit the mat at Bikram (hot yoga) this evening when it is my arse and not my pouch in the hot room and sweating like a mule while I stretch and do all the poses because it makes my body and my mind feel soooooooooooo good/relaxed and stress free afterward... 5 years ago I thought I would die and never come back after the first session but it grew on me and I can't live without a good Bikram session at least 2-3 times a week...
I am so NOT giving the credit to my weight loss surgery ONLY when I cut a little jig and dance and exercise to the music in zumba fitness/zumba toning or aqua zumba ... it is simply FUN!!!
I am so NOT giving the credit to my weight loss surgery ONLY when I am swimming laps from one end of the pool to the other and back and forth and back and forth for an hour or maybe even two because I love love love to swim .. I was on the swim team in school and I can swim just as well or better than before in the fall of my life .... love it!
SO I AM HOPING KATHY BRINGS BACK HER AWESOME DID YOU MOVE TO LOSE TODAY ACCOUNTABILITY THREAD ... AND ADD DID YOU MOVE TO MAINTAIN .... while I try to encourage any to share with me like Charlie did when I first started my journey ... EATING GOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.....

One turkey dog ... ate 1/2 of it
One egg scrambled with Mexican frying cheese (queso de freir)
One slice avocado....

DINNER: POTLUCK ... HOPE TO GET SOME IDEAS ON HERE ... OR AM AT THE MERCY OF DH lol...
I AM HOLDING MY FEET TO THE FIRE ... EATING GOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND MOVING TO MAINTAIN ... IT WORKS!!!! TIME TO TAKE THE CREDIT FOR MY HARD WORK ... I DROPPED ALL THIS WEIGHT DURING MY FIRST YEAR OUT ... BUT TO MAINTAIN I AM GIVING CREDIT TO WHAT I PUT IN TO IT .... IT IS NOT EASY ... BUT IT IS WORTH IT ...
This is me this morning in from of my busted wall in the basement which I painted and where I take my pictures ... it used to be my wall of pain ... where my DS threw/broke/punched and destroyed so many things while he was dealing with issues ... I noticed that every time he decompensated and broke things he NEVER broke or threw on of my paintings ... so I painted that wall in a mural after DH patched it up ... I thought if I made the broken wall painted under a mural just maybe maybe and guess what? HE STOPPED ... AND THAT WALL IS JUST ABOUT THREE YEARS OLD NOW ... and he is stable and I am loving loving loving taking my pictures in front of my old busted wall of pain ... because it broke my heart each time he acted out and I love my kid so much ... and just painting that wall changed soooooooooo many things ... it has a meaning ... Now once we get rid of our water problem in the basement and my floor is completely redone I will be happier yet...

TODAY I AM TAKING THE CREDIT for working hard towards my goal and maintenance ... it is not easy ... I am only human and should I fall or should anything go wrong because that IS the reality of this journey ... I am willing to pick up the pieces and start over ... ONE.DAY.AT.A.TIME....

Dont say that sis!!! I am a MESS .... but as I love to say 'a blessed mess!' I thank my higher power for love and forgiveness ... ... I DO make HUGE mistakes and have inadvertently and sometimes ignoramously put my foot in my mouth more times than I want to ... but as long and there is forgiveness in the heart and in the mind it is all good...

4am,really? My peepers will not open at that hour. 6am tops and then it is a rush to get ready for work.
Today is a blizzard day here so lots of people home. I am home as school is on winter break.
I have been fighting bad sugar lows this week and I know it is because my routine has changed from being off work-uggg! Then lets toss in what I am hoping is extra water weight- life goes on.
Today's Pre-breakfast consisted of a banana, I shared with the dog.
Breakfast- 1/2 cup Cheerios and a splash of milk.
L- 1/2 cup of while chili maybe a couple of whole wheat crackers
D- Stuffed Zucchini and maybe garlic rounds.
Who knows what will pop in for snacks (almonds most likely)
Fighting to get fluids in lately too.
Winter so needs to be done so I can get re-energized

We are getting a storm here starting around noon ... some schools are already having early dismisal.
The sugar lows and water weight are a PITA.... are you checking sodium in foods? just asking ... how much protein are you getting from foods daily? sometimes upping the protein helps...
Tooooooo cute sharing the banana with the dog ... sounds like something I would do ... anytime I have an apple I have eight pairs of beedy eyes on it ... then I share it with 8 ferrets LOL....

The dog has limited foods on his list due to his kidney issues. Bananas are a yes on his list and he knows it LOL. Saves me from eating the whole thing.
Protein- is never an issue. I have already went off my list I typed lol and had my normal breakfast items, will not eat lunch until later in the day now. I had 1/2 cup cottage cheese and turkey pepperoni crisps- thats 21g of protein together. Another 20 for lunch and 20 for dinner will real me in on track with a snack of almonds- all set :)
Now, if liquids would only be a plus in my day life would be good.
