I have been approved for Gastric Bypass surgery to be performed at UWMC in Seattle, WA by Dr. Wright and his team.  I was finally scheduled for the surgery on March 20th.  Only a month away.  I am having all sorts of conflicting emotions but for the most part I am just excited and thankful that this is actually going to happen.  I have been researching and trying to have this surgery for nearly a decade.  *sigh*  I just wanted to share my excitement here and I would also appreciate any tips for pre and post surgery.  Thank you.  :-)

My surgery is scheduled for the same day! I feel the same way I am excited and nervous at the same time.

That is so cool!  We should keep in contact and update with our progress.

You are in for the ride of your life!

I would suggest practicing new behaviors beginning now with regard to eating and exercise- they are essential for post WLS success. WLS is great for helping get the weight off, and the rest of it will be up to you.

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"to talk of many things,
of shoes and ships and sealing wax,
of cabbages and kings,
and why the sea is boiling hot,
and whether pigs have wings"
and Heathers got her surgery date,
and that is why she sings!
