BIG HUGS ... LITTLE HUGS.... ARE YOU A HUGGER????
I had no idea that you can get them unstinky! I wanted to get one for Patrick. He is so sad since losing our dog but I just don't want to commit to a new dog now. The ferret idea was in my head but the worry about smell discouraged the idea.
I have some questions for you if you have a minute:
How hard is it to litter train them?
Are they always caged or do they run around house like a cat or dog would?
Can you leave them overnight without needing a kennel or a pet sitter?

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. - Buddha
They are litter trained like almost immediately ... they only back into corners ... if you have a litter box in a corner ... water and food in another corner ... a toy in a corner and a hammock in another they will go right to the corner with the litter box and do their business ... same when they are loose in the house...
Yes they can be loose in the house but NEVER unattended and all rooms have to be child proof .... they are like little nosy brats ... they get into everything ... my are litter trained and leash trained too ...
I leave mine unattended with food and water and in their secured pen when leaving to work and everyone else has either gone to work or Al has an appointment and like right now he has been recovering from surgery in an inpatient facility for the past several weeks ... so they are pretty much alone until one of us gets home and they all come running for us to let them out and give them a treat . ... they do little dances and all kinds of tricks they are soooo funny and fun loving ...
This is a video I took with Caspar and Pepe at the pet store ... Caspar fell in love with a *****hilla cage and jumped into it and would not come out ... what a mess... so I am trying to get the ferret out of the cage he is stuck in which is too small for him and instead of DH helping me ... he is filming ... geez gotta love him LOL ... this is the video....
Go ahead and get Patchy a ferret .. shoot get two instead that way they can keep each other company when you are away ....

Alright you, I ALMOST came home with a ferret yesterday b/c of all your adorable pictures. They had the most adorable, cuddly little guy at the pet shop for adoption yesterday, he was loving all over me and the baby. They had me totally convinced that he needed to come home with us (his name was Pete! LOL), but I had to walk away b/c I am just not sure how my Molly (dog) would react and I didn't want to take the chance, she is super gentle but she IS a terrier and they have a natural love of chasing small game, which a ferret would be for her.
Love the pics, and I hope you had a fantastic V day!
