Were you ever tormented as a fat kid?

I was, and the scars are there even today.....  I don't think we ever get over the damage that is done to us as fat kids.

How did you handle it?  I went home and ate, ate, ate.

An entire box of ritz crackers watching TV at my grandma's. Being there with that food, where I was accepted. I am fortunate as I got older I decided I wasnt going to live as a victim. But the emotional eating has always stuck with me!

I was tormented as  a kid, as well as an adult today. The only difference is as a kid, I would take only so much before I would beat the cuh cuh out of them, and only get suspended.

As an adult, you can go to jail for assault and battery, be taken to court and pay high fines for personal injury and have it on your permanent record.

Another reason why being an adult totally sucks! And to think, as a kid, I couldn't wait to grow up. Nobody told me it was going to be this difficult!

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

Yep, had a song written about me as a fat kid. I was nicknamed Winnie The Pooh. To this day, I can't stomach that character ...with two kids....hes still haunts me every now and again!

Well looking back, he actually was an accurate characterization....cause I was ALWAYS looking for the sweets.

Yup. and I was short too so they got me with that too. I usually had the last laugh though-they paid for it eventually. Revenge is it's own reward. In one way or another.

 Yes.

And my daughter got off the bus today announcing that she 'is never going that that bus, ever again.'

People are cruel.  Kids, adults, all.

Yes, I was called Blubber (after the Judy Bloom book). It was horrible.

I will never forget one day I was on the bus and had to stand as all the seats were taken.  I wore a girdle (yes they were called girdles back in the day) and the bus lurched forward and I fell back and my skirt went flying over my head.  The kids had a field day and continued in the halls and class for weeks

Looking back I know it was funny but they were not laughing so much due to me falling but me wearing a girdle....

Sigh...I am so glad I am stronger now
