NEED HELP...NEED UNFILLED NOW!!

I had the lap band done in Mexico and as of 2010 Fill Centers USA went out of business. I need to be unfilled NOW but I cannot find a doctor in the Atlanta area that will take me due to having the surgery in Mexico. Please help.Im now at the point where im not keeping any food down. Thanks

 Post this message on the Lap Band forum and hopefully someone from your area could give you some help with finding a physician.  If you continue to be unable to keep food down, you will need to go to the ER, please don't wait too long.  Good luck to you. 

Not all ERs will unfill a Lap-Band and unfortuantely I know this from experience.  I could only get thin liquids down for three days (and not much) I had a high B/P and went to Albany Memorial ER and the doctors there would NOT unfill the band because there wasn't a "Bariatric surgeon" available to do the unfill.  I informed them that I know a PA at my surgeons office can access the port back here in Houston but that didn't persuade them. Your best bet is to go to an ER of a hospital that does bariatric surgery so that there is someone willing to access the port.

find out what local hospital has a bariatric surgeon and go to that ER.

Have you tried Ponce in Dalton?


Other than that, you'll probably need to go to Florida.  Fill Centers are closed but individual doctors are still doing adjustments.

Scott Steinberg, M.D. He is at DeKalb Medical Center. That practice is the only one in ATL that I know of that will accept patients who have had surgery elsewhere.  His number is 404-501-7081.
