I think after my wls I would like to show a few family members and my husband. He has never commented on my weight and says he is ok with how i am now but if this is what will make me happy he is all for it....but sometimes i wonder what he is really thinking.

I was 135 lbs when I met him i am now 245 so I know its not like it was before or maybe thats just myself esteem.

I was thinking about myself in regards to this question and realized it would be my dad.

My parents live out of state and everytime I see him (which istn too often) he always says wow Mick you look like youve lost weight or Wow Mick its look like youve gained a couple pounds. Theres no hi how are you , its straight to the weight.

Then when I told him about weight loss surgery, he was everything but supportive. All he keps saying was Mick, all you need to do is quit eating its that simple then youll finally lose that weight. If you quit stuffing yourself you wouldnt be so big. Then he compares me to my stepmom and says well if Sherry can lose weight so can you, why dont you join Curves too.

Soooo when I have accomplished success from my WLS I want to show my dad once and for all that hey I did this!!!
Nobody. Yep, that's right. Nobody.

My self esteem never revolved around the opinion of others, and that hasn't changed. I don't need to rub my skinny ass in someone's face to feel good about myself or settle some juvinile score with some turd who doesn't matter in my life.

So I do not share this temptation, in fact I don't understand why other's feel the need to do this.

Your success will not change the feelings of your adversaries, they will only find some other way to try and hurt your feelings.

Seriously folks, this **** isn't worth it.

The only one whom your success should matter to is YOURSELF. To hell with everyone else.

Well, I haven't had any success yet, and this is only my first post here. I totally agree with Daryl (busybee212) but there is one person I want to share with, when I have something to share. A good friend of mine who is even more overweight than I am, with as many or more serious medical problems because of the weight. I've talked to her about my plans, and I hope to encourage her to look into options as well.

But other than that, I just want to show off to ME.
Surgery date is 1/30/12

The guy who wanted to start dating, then ignored me for three weeks citing, "I'm embarassed to introduce you to my friends and family because you're fat."

Mainly my family because they were so supportive of my during the period of my surgery.

Gotta admit though, I ran into a former co-worker who always was a real cow about my weight and the expression on her face when she realized who that skinny chick was, was PRICELESS!
