You can read about natural healing of neuropathy here. I can not attest to how well it works personally but it is something I was looking into for myself as well since my regular MD says theres nothing that can be done about it once you get it (hes an ass by the way)

I have Nueropathy also.  I know how painful it is.  I am on Nuerontin and have been for a while.  I just had to have my Dr. up it because it is not working well.  He says that he is not sure just how much I am absorbing so it may just be a waste.  The next step is a Morphine patch.

I wish there was some great insight htat I could offer you but there is not much that can be done.  I thought that it would get better with time but her told me on my last visit that it will only get worse.  YEA!!!

Also..what caused your Nueropathy?  Mine is from vitamin deficiencies.  so make sure all your vitamin levels are in range.

hi maryann i can tell from your post and your writing you are also having some brain fog you are not alone with this. I know this does not help the pain your in. And i agree with the lyricia i gained 80 lbs in 6 months but there are other meds out there i know its hard to think of taking meds all the time but if it helps you function better then try it. ive tried everthing because i to didnt want all these pain meds etc. But when your no longer living a normal life its time to try the meds. cymbalta is a good one for awhile but what they dont tell you is after awhile it will stop working then you have to go though the trying to come off it. Think of it in this way if you needed your bllodpreasure lowered youd take that med. well your in pain you need help there are meds out there that will help that dont make you gain weight.

Hi Maryann. A good person to check in with might be Beth "melting mama" or "mm".

I believe she has struggled with this for quite some time and may have some answers/support for you.

Best of luck to you on your journey=)

I am sorry, I don't know much about neuropathy.  I don't have it, Amy.

LOL, I'm sorry Beth.  I don't know why I keep getting everyone on OH confused.  Must be my time away from the board was too long.

And, I always think you know everything about everything.

Anywho - sorry Beth =)

Are you seeing a neurologist? They should be able to help you. I do know that you can take some pretty huge doses of neurontin without any problems as it has next to no side effects or interactions with other meds.
This is something that really needs time and testing of differrent meds along with a neurologist to find the right combo of meds and that sometimes takes awhile to find the right combo. That said sometimes we are forced to just learn to live with some of the pain as there is only so much that can be done with nerve pain. I wish you the best and hope you are able to find someone who will work with you on your pain.
