If you went a long time without having your period, did you start it after having surgery?

This is happening to me a week out.

Also, can you eat spaghetti sauce?! lol I know it seems trivial, but I would like to mix it in my ricotta.

Can't help you with the first one.

If you are on soft foods or mushies, you should be able to try it out as long as the tomatoes don't bother your tummy.  Some people say tomatoes bother their stomach, but I crave tomatoes when my stomach doesn't feel that great.

I have two more weeks until I can eat ricotta. I am patiently waiting.

Anesthesia wrecks havoc on the menstual cycle, no matter if it's been a long time without having your period.  Some women start earlier than usual after undergoing anesthesia.

I went years without having my period before my RNY due to PCOS. Within losing 80 lbs, my period came back and then at 14-16?months post-op, I was pregnant.

Having a heavy period immediately after surgery is super comment according to what people have posted on this site, and mainly it's due to all of the hormones stored in your fat being released (or something like that), so your emotions and everything are going to be crazy for a bit, and that includes menstrual cramping, PMS'ing, mood swings and periods that seem like they'll never end.

You can talk to your PCP or ob/gyn to see if going on birth control would be beneficial - and you should probably do the birth control thing anyway because you're young and you're going to get pregnant like you're a freaking fertility goddess unless you lock yourself up in your basement or join a convent that doesn't allow male visitors ;)

Yes, you can eat spaghetti sauce, but be wary of the sugar content just in case you're one of the people who is prone to dumping because that is NOT fun.

i am on birth control pills and had my period 2 weeks before surgery and then started again a few days after surgery.

I have read here that this happens to a lot of people.  I guess the shock to your body scrambles the hormones.

Oh crap. If I have a period post-op, I'll be make medical history. I was spayed many years ago! At least that's one thing I won't have to deal with.
