LAURIE-from the pic-and with not being able to palpate/smell, etc, I'd say your surgical site looks PERFECT. If totally closed over, you could easily develop a seroma inside. Often a "space" is left, to allow small leakage of thin, sticky fluids (this is NOT pus-but DO call doc if quality of liquid becomes a different color or becomes very odorous). As the sutures "age", and come closer to time to be removed, the skin will get dryer/itchy, and feel "pulled"-it may even get "redder" in places--all perfectly normal-unless there is a huge amt of heat/fire red mounds.
As always, if truly concerned, consult your physican. Otherwise..listen to us..lol
