I have one incision like that.  My surgeon called it a wick.  I believe it's to help heal from inside out.

I saw my surgeon yesterday and he said it was looking good, though it had some discharge (not smelly but discolored) so I will just trust him, it's healing I guess LOL but seems weird

hmmm it was almost identical to yours.  I had my staples out a week ago tomorrow and it's still open a little, not as much as it was and still draining a tiny bit but seems to almost have stopped that now too :)

Was your surgery open then? If so, I'm just curious as to why it was done open rather than lap? I've had a few surgeries one of which was open and the others lap. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. So, just curious.

It looks like a lap incision with 4 staples...not enough staples for a "open" surgery...

Nope it was laparoscopic. That's the top left incision

Hope you heal quickly! I guess I was lucky - I didn't have any staples. The doc just covered ea*****ision with a piece of tape.

He probably glued you shut and then secured with tape.  The incisions usually have too much pressure on them (from within) to just seal with tape.
