I didn't realize I had a gap like that until after I got home. Doc said it's normal but it's pretty painful. It was actually bigger than that a few days ago.

has anyone else had a gap like this?

Did a staple fall out?  I didnt have any staples for my wls but did for my gallbladder surgery and had nothing like that, it is probably going to take a while to heal up and leave a wider scar.

Nope, none fell out, I called the surgeon and he said that's how he did it. It just didn't look normal to me.

I am supposed to go Monday to get the staples out, but I know that incision isn't going to be ready yet.

I don't know about the gap, but have you read OB's Newsletter?  You won a prize from somewhere.  It is listed down at the bottom on the right as you are facing the computer.
Sorry your stomach looks like it hurts.  Hope it heals quickly.

What did you win?  I recognized your photo. It was nice to "know" someone who won something.  Hope your "stitch, suture or staple" is doing better....

Looks ok...Im no doc but once it opens, it has to heal from the inside out...as long as you keep it clean and dry it will heal up nicely

awww..it is normal to be worried about everything and anything.  You just had a pretty serious surgery...but trust me...your going to do great!  We are more resiliant than you think.  Relax, enjoy this honeymoon phase....We have all been where you are now.
