"Personal Word" for 2012

A member of The Tx Message Board started this a few years ago, and it has meant alot to me. Each of us would pick a personal "power" word, to claim, for the new year..something, personal..individual to our life...for whatever reasons we chose the particular words...we could share those reasons or keep them private..sometimes I didn't even really know WHY I had chosen a particular word, until later in the year...

2010: My word was FREEDOM. I claimed FREEDOM from some chains that had been encumbering me, both personally and professionally, and I came out ahead of the game

2011: My word was SUCCESS: I was nearly 9 years out from my WLS, and had fiddled farted around, having never reached my "goal weight number". I had been close to it, and I had been far from far from it. It was a SUCCESS I was determined to reach..and I did, with the undying support of my  family..both blood, and chosen

2012: My word is FOCUS. I need FOCUS in many areas of my life-spiritual/mental/financial/health-just about all of them-spititual being FIRST-but the others pretty much in "equal" order. Without the spiritual being right, the others won't matter

My first year I bought a bracelet, and a charm, with my "word", on the charm, intending to add a charm, every year. I didn't get one in 2011. Looks like I'd better FOCUS and catch up for 2 years worth now!!!

 I love the power word for the year idea.  Someone told me recently:  "We are all beloved."   It brought me to tears.  That's my word for 2012.  

Yes-I too believe we are all BELOVED-even when I, myself,  sure do NOT deserve to be. What a great power word!

My word for 2012 is compassion.

ANNE-true COMPASSION is a wonderful gift-and a great word! As a Hospice nurse, I have the blessing of working with a group of people who have the gift of true COMPASSION, in their hearts, as I'm sure you do.

I have had my word for a couple of weeks-it actually came to me in a sleeping dream. I've been anxious to share it, but was waiting for the "new year". Thank you for sharing YOUR word.

This is a wonderful and inspiring idea. I utilized the word for 2011 and found it to be a powerful influence in my life. I took time each month to think about my word and even devoted some scrapbook efforts to documenting my journey with my word.

I love the words others have chosen: beloved, compassion-these are powerful and moving words. I believe you'll have a great experience with those in 2012.

My word for 2012 is DEDICATE. I plan to:
1. Dedicate myself to completing my dissertation in 2012
2. Dedicate myself to move more and eat well.
3. Dedicate myself to fanning the flame of my leadership, passion, and engagement gifts to share myself with others as those gifts were intended for sharing, not hiding.
