...an awesome way of losing the cravings is keeping busy hands or so I have found ...oh wait... my mom (RIP) used to hammer that into our heads back home something about idle hands and devil's playground LOL .... so I am applying to my journey and to cravings or snacking which I have not had since I modified my behavior during my first year out...  or maybe that is because I am just an artsy fartsy fool...

I made these how-to videos (please excuse my horrible accent) of how to make awesome creative things while having fun and keeping the hands busy ... these are super easy and everyone can do...  I shared them before on a group I used to have on here but have since moved to its own standalone domain.

With shishkebab skewers and tissue paper the beautiful tissue paper dolls

this is my how to video to make these ... step by step instructions ...

Painting on canvas my most awesome pastime ... here are simple 123 instructions by me (excuse my accent) to paint an awesome canvas even if you have never painted before ... artist acrylic basic colors and canvas is all that's needed....

And easiest yet ... FLORAL PENS ...

and if all fails ... ... hmmmmmmmmm how about chasing ferrets LOL ... this is me and my ferret family ... there are 8 now ... I believe I was up to six when I made this video over a year ago ... and today I weigh LESS than I did then ...  SNIPPETS OF MY JOURNEY

Sharing Snippets of my journey ... embracing joy over misery one.day.at.a.time

I HAVE NEVER EVER SOLD ANY CRAFT ... MY ART IS THE GIFT OF MY HANDS AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GIVEN FREELY ...

TO EACH HE GAVE TALENTS ...

I offer mine freely ... by choice ... I love art ... I love hobbies ... when it becomes a job it loses fun and becomes tedious ... I am too artsy fartsy for that.....

Thanks for allowing me to share...

..."there is misery and joy in equal parts in this world. Misery will find us if we make ourselves a target. Joy is just waiting for us to acknowledge it. I find joy every day in all parts of my life and I just let it happen to me. Misery is there but I'm sure as hell not going to invite it in".....

I've seen many of your posts but never knew you are an artist until today! I watched 3 of your videos and really enjoyed them. I've made the flower pens because at the last office I worked at, people would always take them, mostly by accident, so we lost way fewer pens after I put flowers on them. You are good and the portraits are really fun! I loved the fashion show you did.

By the way, don't apologize for your accent. It's lovely!

Thanks for allowing me to share Barb... I am having a leisurely evening sprawled with my canvas and my palette while my crew are watching a movie and 8 ferrets are jumping around trying to pull my socks off my feet LOL ...

The pen idea came in handy when all the pens were walking at the shop too ... that and I just like to make things look a little bit different ... I am goofy like that LOL....

Last night I was editing my video manager in YouTube and I noticed I had the dolls video in there twice and I guess I deleted the one I referenced in my thread by mistake and OH is not allowing me to edit my thread.

The link to the doll video above is not working cause I deleted it by mistake ...this is the correct link if you are interested  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibVqREOU3mY

Martitalinda, I couldn't agree more--I have found that keeping my hands busy, especially while watching TV, is a very effective way to avoid snacking. I took up embroidery again, and it has really helped. I also have the great benefit of having special wedding gifts just sitting in the closet waiting for a recipient. And folks just love hand-embroidered pillowcases!

And the accent is adorable!

Embroidery is AWESOME Lynn and hand embroidered pillowcases and towels even are AWESOME wedding presents ...you must have the patience of a saint ...  I remember the years in school where we did 'manualidades' (arts and crafts) in school and it seemed we were always having to do cross stitch on these aprons or pillow covers and the nuns would always have an issue with our less that perfect stitches (LOL) ... after a while we learned to be very careful and make sure our stitches were just perfect so we won't have to pick it out (I dread that) and start again LOL...

Hey I deleted the dolls video from the YouTube video manager by accident and for some reason OH doesn't allow me to edit my posts don't ask me why .. this is the link to the shishkebab and paper dolls  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibVqREOU3mY

MARTITALINDA--learning to paint has always been on my "bucket list"-you make me belive I may can actually DO it!! I'm going to start with something I think will be more manageable for me-the pens-I think I already have all the stuff I need in that giant wasteland I call my "craft cabinets"-all six of them!!

I have to share something with you..the other day one of your posts--I can't even remember which one now..inspired me to go finish a crossstitch piece my granny had started. She has been in Heaven 9 yrs now, but I had just run across the half done picture about 2 weeks ago. All the thread/instructions were there. It was something she taught me to do, during my precious summers with her. She was my "one person" who always loved me unconditionally, no matter how fat I got. Finishing that artwork was a gift of love for me. Even though MY work sure did not look HER work, and I know SHE wanted ME to find it and fini****and I know I was SUPPOSED to find it exactly when I did...I wish I could recall which of your posts got me off my butt to go get that piece, get past my tears, and complete it. It was something you had said about your sweet mama...anyway..I wanted to share that with you
