Has anyone gotten Gastric Bypass surgery done throught Amerigroup medicaid?

Im REALLY wanting to get this surgury done and found out my Amerigroup through medicaid covers it 100% with my doctors referrel and if medically nessessary..with my weight and my blood pressure being borderline high i think i should...first off i pray and hope he sends a referrel for me im afriad he will say no for some reason, It just sounds to good to be true!! so has anyone gotten this surgury done with Amerigroup medicaid? how was the process tell me everything! Thank you:)

I have medacare witch is alot lke medacaid i was worried about my doctor to but he was more for it then me. Are you on blood preasure meds. with me I have alot of health issues so its a little diffrent. But no problems at all. My health issues will improve with losing weight but arnt from being over weight except the blood preasure . Loretta

 You, I believe, have to come to a decision about which surgery you want first.

Personally, the lap band sucks for most people.  Avoid it.

Next check out the RNY, DS, and the VSB.  I don't know enough about them to be very knowledgeable about them.  I think it has to do with keeping up with vitamins, but I really don't know.

Don't simply accept what the doctor prescribes. He isn't going to live with it and you are. It matters to do your homework because a do-over is expensive and time consuming.
