What happened to DianaCox?

Funny how perspective works.  I have yet to EVER read anything Diana wrote as verbal abuse, even when she was "real" with me.  I think you are dead on --- you are a "victim", and you likely play that role in many areas of your life.  Not me.  I truly appreciate the effort, any effort, people put into me, especially when it comes to saving my life.  Which is what Diana Cox did, for me, as well as countless others.

Yes, it is funny.  I'll make no assumptions about you, even though you are willing to belittle me for expressing my opinion.  Believe me honey, I'm no victim.  I am a very intelligent, strong, and kind person. 

no.. I am not a victim and I don't play one in real life....

but that is kind of my point here... when people disagree or have a different opinion, out come the personal attacks.. and I don't really understand why or what it accomplishes... because your point would have been made quite easily without it. 

Guate Wife, from my personal perspective Diana provides some very useful information, but she can be very abrupt and confrontational.  That totally turns some people off.   IMO, you're making a leap to assume that means that they have a victim mentality or that they're opposed to reading research. 

It just means that they find her unpleasant and don't like her.   

There's a difference.  IMO, the Block button is the best option when posters have conflicting personalities.

Even though I had RNY I still learn a lot reading what Diana's posted here.  I believe she has a lot to offer OH.  Censorship seriously rubs me the wrong way and I believe as adults we should all have the choice to read it or not.

One poster referred to herownself as a "victim" of Diana; I made no leap.  The other simply can't follow how posts flow on OH, as I did not respond to her at all.

And, yes, Diana can be direct & confrontational.  The truth is, if you can't handle that, you can't handle post-op life with the DS, so it serves the purpose.

That is a crying SHAME....Diana Cox has provided information that has helped MANY ... SEVERAL PERSONAL FRIENDS OF MINE OVERSEAS AND EVEN HERE HAVE  BENEFITED FROM THE HOST OF INFORMATION I TRANSLATED AND SHARED WITH THEM AS WELL AS NUMEROUS WELL PUT TOGETHER LINKS AND INFORMATION ON WHAT IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST AVAILABLE WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY OPTIONS THERE IS ....  .... all from this AWESOME WOMAN who has a bigger heart than her 'feisty' words that are meant to harm NONE.

Never ONCE in the years I have been posting my AW pictures and my goofy posts or responded to her threads did Diana Cox EVER ONCE disrespect me or exchanged a harsh word with me ... NEVER ... 

This is the demise of freedom of speech and expression and it is a crying shame ... truth chopped with an ax in exchange for fake... phony and smiling faces with 'hidden' agendas ....

IT IS A SHAME ....ITS CRYING SHAME .... I KNOW OH DID NOT DO THIS... DID THEY???? ... PLEASE TELL ME OH DID NOT DO THIS ...

wow...I'm new here.  So much drama...  who knew?

I am totally agreeing with you here Marti, some people use OH for their own profit and prosper at the expense of others. Some people, like Diana give back with no expectation of gain and are unceremoniously dumped. How is this not wrong? How is this not an example of a corrupt environment?

And for those who are thinking this is a great thing? Yep, go ahead and enjoy this now. This kind of heavy handed, dictatorial behavior is like a ripple spreading in water. It will eventually catch everyone in it's wake.

We've seen this happen before, we are seeing it again. Last time the situation was made right before any lasting harm was done to the reputation of OH. This behavior is less repairable and ultimately OH is bound to suffer from the actions of a few people with too large an agenda and too damn much power.

Pity, when so many people could be helped by OH.

OH needs to think carefully about the message this behavior is sending into the bariatric community, both on a personal and a professional level.

OH can be an amazing resource to the WLS community.  Or not.  This whole thread could be a pivotable, learning moment, but I'm not holding my breath.
