 YES - OH, which I have some affection for because of other WLS peeps (rather than the site) is shooting itself in the foot. stupid and makes things worse for all of us.

I'm surprised this thread is still up. They pulled mine. Guess they're not reading the replies here too well, or they'd see their dirty little secrets being aired.

I also had Diana blocked.  I never had a run-in with her, but after watching her belittle people several times, I wasn't interested in her perspective anymore.  She may have had a lot of knowledge, but she's hardly the sole repository for WLS information.  I figured I could get that info from other sources without having to watch her feed her ego by intentionally hurting other people.

Let's hope you don't need the information Diana freely shared about insurance approvals to get your surgery.  Could be sad if you stood for limiting speech when that speech stands between you and your dream.

I see your point, and I do understand that Diana helped a lot of people with that issue.  I don't mean to diminish that because I know it took a lot of her time and effort.  But I'm pretty sure that there are other sources for assistance with insurance approval issues.

I'm not sure why you assume I stand for limiting speech.  I didn't offer an opinion on whether she should be banned or not.  Perhaps my blocking her is what made you think I stand for limiting speech.  But my understanding is that my blocking her just stops me from seeing/reading what she's said and doesn't stop her from saying anything. 

I don't know why she was banned and therefore don't have an opinion on that either way.  Since I didn't read any of her posts here or elsewhere, I have no basis for an opinion. 

 I don't know Diana and ifbI've read any of her posts, they didn't stand out one way or another.   However, for those of you who want change and the board isn't listening, consider this.   We don't pay for this service.   The advertisers do.  OH may or may not care what you think, but the advertisers will, if they think it will adversely affect their bottom line.

I'm very torn. On one hand I couldn't stand her in the way she talked to people. People with no tact in the way they speak to others is a pet peave of mine. I'm all for truth, but empathy is important as well. As a Band patient and successful at that, It really upset me at times that she made me feel like an idiot for my descision. I mean I get the DS is statistacally the best surgury, but there is no need to belittle those that don't choose it.  On the other hand, she did bring a wealth of knowledge. So I guess I'm not unhappy to see her go, but I think it's terrible that OH did what they did. (Yes I know I'm speaking from both sides of my mouth)

I think your point is very pragmatic.  You are able to see past what you know is your pet peeve, and the kind of people you would choose to interact with, and acknowledge both sides of the situation, and say you don't agree with what was done to her...

And that is really the purpose of this thread... Why should OH pay any attention if only Diana's fans and friends speak up.

The rest of us, by acknowleding that we weren't a fan or friend, but still don't agree with what happened to her, is important to add to the equation.

But, now I almost regret even saying that or posting at all, because out come the personal attacks...

Your statement/sentiment t is VERY IMPORTANT to add to the equation and your input and opinion are important and valued too, trust ... don't ever regret saying or posting your true sentiments..... and please do not take it personal ... some of the reactions are not meant to attack I am certain... some of us and I speak for myself are so ticked off at the unfairness and underhandedness of this we may come across in a manner that we do not intend to... 

Your input is valuable and it is okay to agree to disagree.  Please do continue to post and please note that in our diverse community where some are more passionate than others and some are more direct than others and some are more misunderstood than others ... overall we mean no harm ... Diana did extend herself and had a unique way of attracting readers to her posts and it worked even the ones hollering bully read her ... sometimes I used to just imagine 

I for one rather can take content over style ... any day .... and I totally agree with you on your above statement and I quoted what I liked best of it ... so OH can see that both those who liked and those who disliked her style STILL DON'T AGREE with what happened to her ...

Today it is her .. tomorrow it may be you or I...
