Life on the Internet: the way it is

 It is what it is.

Each website is its own individual entity and can devise rules and policies as it sees fit. These rules are subject to change without notice, with or without explanation.

Each website can allow - and ban - anyone at any time for any reason, as it sees fit.

There is NO "freedom of speech."  Your First Amendment rights end when you agree to a website's TOS.

Each website can allow - and disallow - any posts, language, topics, subjects, etc. as it sees fit.

Members and users are free to leave at any time to utilize similar sites, or to create their own.

Does it make sense?
Maybe not, but it doesn't have to.

Does it make all users/members happy?
Nope. But OH can do whatever they want. It's their site. And, again: it is what it is.

What it is successfully working very hard to be is an empty echo chamber.

OH is NOTHING without our posts lining their coffers.

Then they will sink or survive on their own decisions. But, once again, it's THEIR site, and their decision to make.

OH is smart and listens. I became a member after reading for many months, only to be charged with being a "Troll" for giving my personal response. It was not nasty just my opinion, and my look at a situtation. Not only one but 4 posters. Alot of people looking for support would see that post and not want to become members.
Get rid of the rif-raff and the site can only become great.
It is what it is. Good Luck

The "riff-raff", as you put it, are the vets. The ones who have been there and done that. The ones who have figured out that the doctors may be good cutters but they are generally useless on the follow up. The ones that have educated themselves and can give better and more accurate information than the nuts. But by all means, let OH run us all of. Then this site will be full of people who will lead each other straight to a hospital bed, or even worse, a grave with the incredibly bad and dangerous information.

I have been on this site for about 5 years and this is the lowest amount of activity I have ever seen on here. If this keeps going there won't be a site. Advertisers are not going to stick around a site that people aren't going to.

As to the accusation of "Troll" There have been a plethora of them so you probably fit right into the general actions that portrayed. It turned out not to be true and you are still here. It was really a little thing and I would hope that you were able to move past it.

To Superwife: I have read plenty of nasty uncalled for comments on here that I did not appreciate and I am glad that people who consistently are mean and nasty will be removed. I have never been attacked but I feel for people who were attacked and called all kinds of names. Its childish. There are plenty of helpful people here who know how to disagree with someone without being nasty but obviously there are some that dont know how to do this and I believe OH is right in removing them. I personally did not think you should have been called a troll. It was not right.

You do not have to read more than one nasty comment from someone.

That is what your BLOCK button is for.

You do not have to read profanity more than once, either.

That is what your ADULT FILTER is for.

Diana was not banned for her comments HERE.

As well she shouldn't have been for the above mentioned reasons. (You don't like her, you can choose to not see her posts. No more need to complain.) The people *****fuse to use those tools and complain anyway are the ones who should be banned. Unnecessary whining pains in everyone's arses.

She was banned for something she posted about OH on a PRIVATE Facebook page.

I said the same thing on another thread.  People act like they are granted rights when they post on a message board.  We are here at the pleasure of the people who run it and they can do whatever they want.  Instead of complaining and demanding they do things their way they should find a place that is more in line with what they want.  Or start their own message board where they can run things as they see fit.  No one is being forced to stay here.
I think it's funny that people think they are so important that the website will lose money from their advertisers if they leave or even cease to exist.  No one here is indispensable, as hard as that is to believe.  Even if people leave en mass I am sure there will be more to take their place.
Another thing.  I am sure that OH had their reasons to implement the changes they have and I have a feeling those reasons have to do with members complaining and maybe even advertisers.  As vocal as some may be they may be the minority.

Thank you for your nice comments. I feel with my background of being a nurse for 1/4 century, taking care of people most of life can be of a great help to others going thru what we have been. Down almost 6 weeks 25# lost for good. Thanks again. Linda

So you guys don't care either that a website's moderators (not saying OH, necessarily) can hack your private messages and share them among others?  You don't care that t website (not saying OH, necessarily) can be intentionally misleading, bullying and lying and you're ok with it because "that's life in cyberspace?"  Sorry, that's just not right under any rulebook, real life or cyber life.
