Any Farmville Fans Here???

Hi everyone!!! I have found my transfer addiction #2...Click has occupied the #1 spot but that's a topic for another day!  

Up until a few months ago I didn't have a Facebook account, but my 10 year old daughter wanted to keep in touch with her friends from her old school (we moved) and so in order to monitor her activity on it I made an account myself.

That's when my husband also made an account and ask me to become his neighbor on Farmville to help him expand his farm. 

For some strange reason, I still cannot enable the Farmville Friends Application on my account, so I am trying to get some more neighbors here on OH.  

If you play Farmville and are interested in adding a fellow WLS buddy to your list of neighbors, please add me as a friend on Facebook and let me know you are from OH.  My FB name is Rose Costa.

  As in "perfect...a new neighbor" or "perfect...another Farmville Freak"???

 

Neither of the options you've given me are what I had in mind.

Perfect:

1. That you've marked a post at "urgent" in which you're recruiting people to play an online game wherin they can milk your imaginary cows for you and collect your imaginary eggs for you when you're too busy to milk your imaginary cows and collect your imaginary eggs yourself.

2.  That you're recruiting people for this task on a weight loss surgery support board.

3.  That you're doing this recruiting right in the middle of an upheaval concerning fairness regarding the moderation of members' posts.

THAT perfect.

Yup.

This is one of the reason that I no longer even SEE the "Urgent" tag...

Good answer!  I respect and appreciate it but disagree with your perception of my intent.  Here's why.

We are all here for advice and support and some of the best advice and support I have received here has taught me that we should (and must) focus on life after WLS. Most of us find "transfer addictions" post-op that replace our need to use food as comfort and this distraction from our real addiction is an outlet that we use to keep us grounded. It is only another tool that helps us stay on track, which keeps us as close to normal as possible. In reality "transfer addiction" is therapy. 

Many of us "transfer" our attention from food to exercise, shopping, running, quilting…whatever grabs our attention in a positive way. In my case these games (among other newfound interests) have grabbed my attention and are doing an amazing job at relieving the stress from my day-to-day life...keeping me away from unnecessary food related binges, helping me maintain my sanity. On this site we find MANY different people talking about MANY different things that might not always have to do with WLS because our everyday life doesn't only revolve around our WLS...we work, we love, we laugh, we cry...WE LIVE!

 

I don’t apologize for the urgent status on some of my posts because while some of their topics are not necessarily urgent to someone else, they are for me at the time I post them. It’s what is on my mind at that moment and I need to reach out to someone.  Yes, I was recruiting "Farmville friends" but I could have done that on Facebook and I’m sure I would have found a lot more “friends" interested in the game there, but I did it here because making new friends from this site, even if it’s through Farmville or any other “outside"  WLS interest, is definitely a plus for me.   

Add me as a friend here if you would like…and on Facebook too if you would like to try your hand at tending to some very lovable imaginary animals.   The bottom line is that the more friends we have on this journey, the better equipped we are to get through those times when we need some help, even if sometimes our requests seem unimportant to someone else.
