Your insurance company can only refuse to pay for something.  They can't forbid you to have something done and pay for it yourself.

Congratulations... Maybe the tide is changing and things are about to start going smoothly. Remember to keep your 'eye on the prize'. It may help to make a list of the reasons that you are doing this; I think you will find it will help you in the long and short term. Refer to it whenever you are facing challenges as well as when you are celebrating your successes.

Congrats!  You are continuing on a life changing journey.

I took pictures monthly until I reached goal.  It was always eye opening to see the overall changes each month. (They are on my profile-if you send me a friend request you can see them).

Remember this is a marathon, not a sprint and this is for the rest of your life, and I hope overall good health and wellbeing are at the forefront of your goals.  Please don't get caught in the "numbers" game trying to "wear a certain size" or "be a certain number on a scale".  Or even worse, being one of those folks a year out and saying "I live off of 600 calories a day!".

The long term goal is to reach a healthy weight/size for YOU and to return to "normal" eating.  It is not necessarily going to be what a BMI chart says-that is merely a guideline.  Only you and your doctor can determine what range is the healthiest for YOU.

Start today with making life long changes.  Give up sugar as much as possible, give up alcohol (for now and for a while....I did until around 8 mos after surgery, and then I only had a very occasional glass of wine....now, in maintenance I can drink whatever I want, of course in moderation), stop drinking soda and try not to drink with your meals and wait for 30 minutes afterward.  If you can do these post surgery things now, then the after life is easier.

Also, please start execising.  Now. (If you haven't already).  This is a HUGE component to life long weight control that so many people just skip.

Wishing you the best, and we are here for you.

Thank you for your post. I do not have a goal weight for 120 as I am only 4' 11''. I do know it's life long, and I am sooo ready.  I have already started all of the changes in my life as far as diet, exercises and alcohol. My life is completely changed in that aspect. The only thing I haven't started is the not drinking 30 minutes before or after, but I will start that practice today.

I do ten miles on the bike a day and also do walking and the Nautilus machines. Where as a few months ago, I sat on my couch all day.

Thanks for your support!
