lost my mojo
Kiddo,
I'm 6 years out and have just found 20 pounds in the last two months. My first gain after lossing all this time. I decided to choose my destiny and watch everything I put in my mouth. I will win over this and lose the 20 pounds by going back to the basics of drinking plenty of water, eating protein first, limiting carbs and sugar, and getting plenty of exer****

Hi there!
I gained 30 pounds back and never made it to goal! I got all the way to a size 12 also weighing in at 190#'s. Now, I'm losing again I know alot of people say go back to the beginning. I started back to soft foods again I didn't think I would make it through liquids again a second time around so I started with the soft foods. So far I've lost only 5 #'s and it's only been a week but it's better than nothing! I'm just happy i'm losing again. I also find that coming here helps out alot and looking at my old pictures. I hope you find what works best for you let's get into those size 12 's !!

The scale ticks up every now and again for me too, but my fluxuation is usually only about 10 pounds. Strangely enough, the weight gain often occurs at this time of the year, when goodies are so prevalent. It used to be that I would indulge in a few cookies or an occasional piece of pie, that someone had assured me they made with Splenda. Well, now that I have reactive hypoglycemia, I can't do that any more, but I do find myself eating more because I somehow sense that I am 'deprived.' Are you getting any exercise? I've been cooped up in the house for days because it has been below freezing and my hands and feet freak out in the cold. I just got my insulated boots in the mail yesterday, so the dog and I will go walking (already had a good pair of gloves). When you eat, examine what you're eating and how much. Remember right after surgery? Remember eating out of those tiny little dishes because your stomach just isn't that big? Well, chances are your stomach is a little bigger now, but not all that much. You've just found ways to make things slide through a little more easily. Are you drinking with meals? Drinking within half and hour to 45 minutes before or after you eat? Then again, especially at this time of year, are you drinking your calories? Put your mind back into the weeks following your surgery and get a firm grasp on not only how your stomach felt, but how you looked forward to being slim. Now think to the time you were at your lowest weight. Didn't that feel great? How do you get there again? By doing the same thing you did way back then. The first few days will be a little rough, but you'll soon find that your pouch adjusts to not being over-stuffed. It feels small again. Start by eating your meals from a salad plate or a 1/2 cup pyrex bowl. Remember what your portions are supposed to be. You'll get there!!
