I dont think anyone really honestly tries to be rude to new people, they just want them to be informed.
Often when someone new comes along and they are going to a surgeon that has had deaths or alot of patients that have had serrious complications, they want to inform you..
I know when your ready to go into surgery your all nervous but truely excited, and people understand that they truely do.. but they dont want you risking your life on what may result in being the difference of a couple of thousand dollars if you had chosen a more capable surgeon.
my suggestion is ask your surgeon how many deaths he has had, i asked that of my surgeon and she told me none... It would be interesting to see what yours says and what the reasoning is behind the death if he says yes.. read the links even if you dont like the response just so your going in fully informed..
The death your surgeon had that they are trying to warn you of is pretty recent, so yes your going to get replys with alot of raw emotion attached to them, Imagine if you could potentially save one from harms way ... i believe that is what people are trying to do for you. they just want you to not risk your life if you dont have to.
but good luck to you what ever you decide...

If I started dating a guy who was totally hot and seemed super sweet, but then several people told me he had a history of being a rapist, I'd seriously reconsider that relationship, even if his initial background check did come back clean.
Know what I'm saying?
Stephanie, I'm not a basher. Go back and read any of my previous posts. I try to help people when I can.
In my opinion, you are being so defensive that you refuse to even consider that you might be making a mistake. A horrible mistake that could cost you your life.
Is being right worth dying for? Is it so terrible to admit that maybe you need to rethink this huge decision you're making? You don't owe this doctor any kind of loyalty. This is about YOU, not him.
I'm asking you to please stop and take some time to actually read the links the previous posters have provided. Knowledge is power, lady.
You don't have to defend whatever decision you make to me or anybody else. It's your body and ultimately your life on the line.
Whatever you do decide, I wish you a successful outcome.
Take care.
The DS is a complex, difficult surgey, since it requires stitching of the duodenum. The duodenum is very fragile tissue---one surgeon compared it to sewing wet tissue paper. And yes, sometimes even the most experienced surgeons have difficulty with this, and occassionally lose a patient.
That's why no one wants to see you go into such a complex procedure with an inexperienced surgeon. Dr. Juarez may well become an excellent DS surgeon, but he hasn't gotten there yet.
At this point in time, he needs to be working alongside a more experienced surgeon. That was the plan when StephanieAZ chose him, but Dr. Husted pulled out at the last moment. She chose to go ahead with just Juarez, and she died.
No one wants that to heppen to you.
No one is being rude---they're expressing concern for your safety.
I just found this.
