Hey Diana,
How did you know she was planning on Dr Juarez? Is he the only one attempting it in Az nowadays?

I am not Diana but I think her surgeon WAS listed and has since been taken off.

Also she commented on another person's post that they had the same surgeon and that person had Dr. Juarez listed as her surgeon. Oy Vey!!

I hope they both listen, this is no joke!!!!

Ahh, gotcha.

I totally agree with you.  Being a guinea pig doesn't always turn out well, now does it?

This is just so sad.  I sincerely hope that history doesn't repeat itself, but....

The Stefanie that died didn't want to hear any of this either, and quit posting about her decision to have the DS with Juarez. (and Husted)

I DO remember the agony of waiting for surgery, wanting to be on my way to a healthier weight, and, can't imagine the frustration I would have felt if I had found out that I had picked a crappy surgeon, but doggone it, I wish people weren't so eager to get themselves killed!

RIGHT! Cause you know for sure it was Dr Juarez that killed her! Not a comorbidity. Not the anesthesia. Run people in Az. Hide. He is a butcher. And if we say it then it must be true.

would you rather be warned of a Doctor's inexperience and possible complications due to his inexperience while you still have time to change or just have everyone say good luck and then feel bad when a family member posts of a serious complication or death?

I read about Steph in Arizona's passing. She was a very young vibrant woman and it is a tragedy.

I've seen serious complications from "vetted" surgeons. If you look at the deaths Dr Greenbaum has several.
Every surgeon has to have those first 50 or 100 in order to become "vetted"
Dr Juarez removed my lap band. At the time it had eroded into my stomach, esophagus, and diaphragm. a large portion of my stomach was rotted out if you will. When vomiting you could smell the rotten flesh.
He not only did that complicated surgery he also did my DS without a single issue. This after my stomach was so messed up.
He is the on call trauma abdominal surgeon for one of the major hospitals here. He has a good reputation. He has been doing surgeries for over 25 years. And yet we can throw all this away and people can call him a "Butcher" because of Stephanie Dying.
As I have said before...was it anesthesia? A issue with her due to comorbidites? Did he kill her?
We do not know. What we do know is that her heart rate and blood pressure were elevated DURING surgery. And as I was going into surgery even the anesthesiologist said it sounded like she had trouble with the anesthesia.
There IS a morbidity rate with this type of surgery. We are all informed of the risk we are taking when we undergo getting the DS done.
I disagree that people should run from him. And until you can show me something concrete and not speculation I'll stick with that.

If the dates you give in the posts you made on the DS forum are correct, you had your surgery just 2 weeks (or so) after Stef's death.  You are a very brave woman.
Did Husted assist on your surgery?
And, your profile that you post under was created after your surgery must have been.  Do you have any other identities?
Oh, and, you said above:  "And as I was going into surgery even the anesthesiologist said it sounded like she had trouble with the anesthesia."
Was the anesthesiologist sharing HIPPA protected info with you, or commenting on your discussion of the earlier tragedy?
