What makes us PERFECT?
Hi Everyone,
I think so many of us feel that “if we just lose the weight" everything will be perfect and so will we. Today I post this on Facebook. “Some people are so stressed trying to be perfectly flawless.... but I'm so HAPPY to be perfectly flawed."
What I have learned is that I am NOT perfect—and I never plan on it. I have learned that I can ONLY be who I am, and being flawed is fine with me—I really think is its great honestly. It makes me human.
So, if you have had weight loss surgery or thinking about it, I want you to just be the best you can for just you and NO one else. I keep saying this—this is ALL about YOU and NO one else.
You will have good days and not so good days. And you may even have a few really ugly and bad days. This is all very normal. I would be lying if I said every day was just wonderful. I remember the first time I went out with a group of friends for dinner—shortly after I had WLS. I sat there a****ched them consume ALL that food and thought to myself “what have I done to myself????" I will NEVER be able to eat like that again. That was my “OLD" brain doing my thinking. About a month later, I was thrilled that I could NEVER consume all the food every again.
This is a challenge, and with time it really becomes a way of life. Holidays are probably the hardest to do. We as a society seem to celebrate every Holiday with a lot of unhealthy food. I keep saying we have to make this a lifestyle change and be comfortable with it, so we can eat like this for the rest of our life.
I have found that being older exercise is really important to me. Without exercise, I just don’t feel good. It helps me also maintain my weight loss. I know that there are people who say they do not exercise, they may find out as they get older they may need it.
I have been asked how did I know what I wanted for a goal weight. I thought when I feel good and comfortable that is going to be my goal weight. I still go up and down about 5 pounds depending on what I am doing. I had weight loss surgery 3 years ago. I know for a fact I would not feel as good and healthy as I do now at age 66 if I would have not had this surgery.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/heart.gif)
Don’t waste your time thinking or wanting to be perfect. Be your true self. Be proud of your accomplishments. I think the thing I am most thankful is, my good health and my body does NOT hurt anymore. I spent a month in Europe in Sept 2011 and walked all over the place—a dream come true vacation! I could have never done this if I would have not lost this weight.
Happy Holidays and Hugs to you,![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/party.gif)

What would make us perfect?
If everyone would accept people AS THEY ARE! Regardless of age, race, religion, body size, color, etc etc etc.
No one is perfect. No one can ever be perfect. The sooner we all learn that the better this place would be.
Merry Christmas to you too.
Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!
Hi,
I loved all the things you said and they are so true. I believe they would call that the "perfect world." Sad that people can not do that. Maybe in time we as humans will get better at it.
Merry Christmas to you also. Love the picture of the cat on your profile. I have one that looks just like that, and he is sitting on my lap as I type this.
Hugs,
Suzanne

Yeah, this is my kitty Peanut. She is one of 7 that I own! She knows just how to get what she wants just by looking at you with her head tilted just slightly. It's irresistable, and she knows it! I love all animals!

Awwwwwh she is a cutie. I am such an animal lover too. Right now I have only one cat, but have had as many as 5 at one time. When this kitty is gone we will wait a little while before we get another kitty. We have been traveling and so I hire someone to come and house sit and kitty sit. I have someone who is fabulous and my kitty Tigger loves her, because she spoils her as much as I do.
