How tall are you?

So you lost ~4.75 stone. You've regained ~ 2.75 stone. What lead to your regain?

You need to start tracking what you are eating if you havent aready. As you get further out its easier to eat more and abuse your tool. Dont drink when you eat, track what you eat and move your body.  Easier said than done, I know!

you must have got your date wrong in your message.  You say that you had a gastric bypass in December 2011...which is the current month.  What year did you actually have your surgery...this will help me figure out how long you kept it off.  What was your regain pattern like (how quickly)?

Ya, you've got your date wrong.  It would be helpful for us to know how long you had kept your weight off and when your re-gain started.  Barring that, this is what I suggest.  Examine your activity level.  Did you exercise after your surgery?  I know when I get "too busy" to get out and go for my long walks with my dog, I begin to feel pretty pudgy.  Back out for walks, I'm back to feeling slim again.  Are you eating too many refined carbs?  We tend become more tolerant of forbidden foods as time goes by and we test the waters by eating things we shouldn't.  If we don't get sick, or if we get sick but still enjoyed that item and we didn't get horribly sick, we're tempted to eat junk again.  We all know diets don't work.  We had this surgery to force ourselves into a life style change.  If you go back to old habits, you WILL regain the weight.  Start getting some exercise and go see a dietician.  They can help you get back on track.

Hi Debb ! its all too  easy to regain after a wls .   The first years' weight loss seems  miraculously easy and its very easy to cheat a little here and there and  even slip back into old  eating habits (  shoot we're eating a lot LESS  ofthe bad stuff right ? )

and then ..boom .. down the line  somewhere out of the blue it suddenly all seems to catch up with us ...

theres a group on here called back on track .....  about re-centering ourselves and losing the regain  weight the old fashioned  way  through  more movement and  better food choices ...

the GOOD news is U still have Ur tool  and this will really WORK  as opposed to attempts  U may have made preop  when it was much harder to lose and tone ...

there are interesting  groups like the clean eating forum  which is very helpful  in opening up the mind to  better more conscious  and high quality  food choices ...

and there are other  wonderful forums  where  people post their  menus and miles  every day which is super helpful   in tracking calories and activity level ....  and showing U where U can tweak ....

U CAN do it !   many OHers before U  went down the regain road , recentered themselves and  even  exceeded  their goal weight the second time around !  Many have been maintaining the NEW  low weight  successfully forYEARS  .. so its not a diet  .. its a LIVEABLE LIFESTYLE change

Welcome back !!   Stay close  .. we're  here for U just as  Ull be here to support  us ....       It's  MUCH easier when its a team effort !!!
