I have decided to get weight loss surgery but I do not know any legitimate weight loss facilities that will do it. Insurance will not cover it. Right now I am looking at beliteweight. but i dont feel comfortable going out of the country to have surgery. has anyone had experice with belite weight if not who do you recommend? Also I was told that the DS procedure will be best for me so im looking for a facility who does that procedure? Personal experience will be very helpful.

I can only offer a little advice, so here it is for what it is worth. I would not go out of the country for something as complicated as DS or RNY.  It is a very tricky surgery. When done correctly by a competent experienced surgeon in a good hospital, it is fairly safe and the best thing I have ever did in my life (I had RNY). I had the best doctor around (Garth Davis in Houston, TX) and I couldn't have asked for better results with no complications and wonderful aftercare that continues for the rest of my life.  My doctor not only did a great job with the surgery and recovery and was available if I had any complications, he does my follow-up care every year and continually has support groups and nutritionist advice.  I was lucky in that my insurance paid for it, but I waited 5 years until I could get an insurance that covered it, and looking back, I wish I had gotten a loan and done it 5 years sooner.  I did self pay some plastic surgery. I took out a loan against my car and got a personal loan, so now I look great and drive a old car. Well worth it. Many doctors are affiliated with a medical loan company.  I would keep looking until you find one who is also reputable in the kind of WLS you want.  You can also check out your bank to see what kind of medical loans they might give. I went through my credit union.

See thats my issue i dont have good credit.Plus I keep getting declined for insurance due to the fact that im all ready "big" so everything i do is on me. I personally do not want to go out of the country but I guess i am desperate at this point i have to much weight to lose and i feel like a prisoner in my body and i am just ready for it to be over ..

It always sounds a little arrogant to assume that there are not world class surgeons in countries outside of the USA!

I have lived in many different countries and had surgery in a few different ones - I had my RNY in the US and then moved to Singapore 3 months later so I had to advocate for myself and seek a PCP that was willing to learn (from me and medical journals) so that he could help me keep me healthy for the four years I was there before returning to a different state here.

I also had all my plastics done at Bumrungrad Hospital in Thailand - a world class hospital that has a lot of American and other country "tourists".

OP:  If you choose the out of country route, you MUST make sure that your surgeon is well qualified, with a stellar record and reputation and you must ensure that you will have support back home in case of emergencies and at the least to get your labs etc done - you should NOT have any WLS unless you have access to 3, 6 and 12 month labs at minimum your first year.

LOTS of people go out of country and have great success. I suggest asking about it on the DS forum - many self-pay DSers go to Mexico, Brazil, Spain...

There is only one DS surgeon in Mexico, Dr. Ungson.

There is a link in my signature line to DS Facts which has a list of 'vetted' DS surgeons.

I had my surgery in Brazil and had the best medical care in my entire life there.  The University of Chicago sent a delegation to the hospital I was in as they wanted to see and learn from the hospital that at that time had the 4th lowest infection rate in the world.

You can get excellent care outside of the US but you need to have something in place for aftercare.  My PCP accepted my surgeon's lab requests.

You need to be aware of the expenses involved in WLS.  All of the surgeries require supplementation and lab work, the DS maybe more than others, although I do know of RNYer's that take more supplements than I take.

I do not doubt that there are good doctors outside of the USA I ts just that i have trouble looking for a doctor. I also realize  that i need another medical facility in the USa who will do my aftercare . Thats why I am trying to find  good doctor so I can find a doctor who will accept that sort of situation. and i have been getting my labs done every 3 months the only thing they can find is slightly low white blood cell count. Toi me it is urgent because I have 300+ to lose and I am only 21 years old.

I don't know of any DS surgeons in the US or out of the US that have in-house financing.

It appears that your best bet at this point would be to get a part time job at Starbuck's, Home Depot or some other company that provides WLS inclusive health insurance for part time employees.

I have not heard of a surgeon that provides financing.
