trust me my ANXIETY is from Post Op Wls not my ailments...yes I have alot of ailments i just mentioned it so everyone knows what i have. I have to worry , worry , worry when i dont do something i am suppose to do .. like take my vitamins, calcium..its a very stressful feeling i have to deal with daily..I'm sure my burning back is from not enough calcium.I also had Post Dramatic Stress Syndrome after my Open Heart surgery, from the respitory failure..did therapy for that for 18 months and it helped. I had also asked OH for them to start a Heart Patient support forum with a responce that they cannot do that..?????????why not?!!!!!!! I'm sorry. Central Sleep Apnea is not the same as 'sleep apnea'
Seriously???
Central sleep apnea is still treated with a CPAP machine. In addition, acetazolamide can be used to prevent it.

Okay, I want to be sympathetic but I just cannot work any up for this. I've been coming to OH since 2002 and your posts are almost always the same.
You post about having seven or so heart surgeries. Nope, you have had stents placed, that is a procedure, not a surgery. You write that you had open heart surgery. Did you have a valve replaced? That would actually be 'open heart'. Did you have by pass? Not even in the same ballpark as 'open heart'.
You wrote a couple months ago that you were diagnosed with cervical cancer but you have never mentioned treatment or surgery. They do not let cervical cancer go, they generally do a radical hyst and often follow up with radiation and sometimes chemo. You seem a little light on the details and I'm thinking you possibly have some pre-cancerous cells. No way in hell does that equal cervical cancer.
You complain about arthritis. Join the club, some days I have to use to cane to walk, but I do it, and I don't post about how bad my life is. I would be willing to bet that many of the posters on OH suffer from osteo-arthritis. Being obese plays hell with our joints.
You talk about 'central sleep apnea'. Are you using your CPAP, are you doing anything to make it better?
You don't do all the things you want to do, that's your choice, it has nothing to do with WLS. I would steer a newbie away from your posts. I wouldn't want them to think that WLS was going to turn them into anxiety ridden shut ins post op. I don't think your woe is me posts are particularly good research material.
My best advice? Pull your head out of whatever orifice you've got it crammed into, take a deep breath, grow a pair and get on with your life. You are wasting a lot of irreplaceable time banging out these oh poor me posts hoping for a some sympathy and buy in from other posters. You may get some but sure as **** not from me. Oh, and for god's sake, get on some kind of medication to elevate your mood. It is incredibly ridiculous that you are refusing to take meds that might make you feel better - unless you really don't want to feel better. I'm guessing that might be pretty close to the mark.

Hi Husker, I know you don't think therapy or drugs are neccessary for your anxiety, but at the same time you tend to admit that it's out of control. So can we agree that what you've been doing so far for the anxiety isn't working?
Please don't put the extra stress on your heart when anxiety can be treated with therapy and/or drugs.

That is not neccessarily true. Millions of people take medication for various ailments, and if what you're saying is true than everyone would be dead.
I think you're putting more immediate danger on yourself with the anxiety being rough on your heart condition, rather than taking a baby dose of anti-anxiety meds to stabilize your mood and take the stress off your heart.
Do what you want, but if doing nothing isn't helping, and you're adverse to doing anything other than nothing, you're not going to get better.

Honey...I'm the most anti-drug person in the world....almost to the point of "manic". I think taking a pill makes me weak. BUT I realize that type of thinking is WHY I need therapy, so I do it, and I take the damnable anxiety pills....in my case, valium....and I'm able to cope. You sound as though you have the same problem I have ....chronic panic/worry/anxiety disorder. It's nothing to laugh at. It's not simply a case of "nerves". It's an overwhelming worry that clouds your daily life and literally CONSUMES you. There is medication for it, and like I tell myself all the time..."doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, is a TRUE sign of insanity"....can't remember who said this, but it's so very true.
See a shrink. Get on some meds. Your way isn't working, just like mine wasn't. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, but I have to agree....I don't think it has anything to do with WLS, and alot to do with either vites or mental issues, or one and the same. Good luck to you!

Huskergal - you had your weight loss surgery after your heart surgeries. Your WLS did not cause your heart problems. I understand the post-traumatic stress from the heart surgeries - I had a bit after an extensive spinal surgery. I have anxiety and depression, but I take meds for it. I have bloodwork done every year and they are not killing my liver. I am very healthy according to my labs. If you need help with your anxiety and depression, talk to your doctor. There is absolutely no shame in getting help. If you want to wallow in misery, do nothing about it, but if you'd like a chance of getting at least part of your life back, please see a medical professional.

I am totally not understanding your posts. You don't get anxiety from WLS - you most likely had it to begin with and your heart problems are definitely not from the WLS - they are from years of obesity/ Why get upset over taking a BP medication if it can help you - I have to take a PPI, thyroid medication, topamax to prevent migraines, zocor to prevents heart attack and stroke due to clogged arteries but I deal with it plus pain medications everyday.
If you are admitting to anxiety - then you need to either take medication for it or see someone or both. Don't just ignore it or it will eat away at you.
Just missing one day of a vitamin isn't going to cause symptoms - yes, missing for a month, that will cause a problem. I am having surgery tomorrow which was supposed to be 2 weeks ago and I had to be off all supplements other than B vitamins and iron for 2 weeks before so all in all, I have been off everything but my iron and B's for about 5 weeks - I am sure my vitamin levels are in the toilet right now but I know it was necessary to avoid bleeding during surgery. I have always had optimal levels, so as soon as the surgery is over, I will go back on regime - increase the doses a bit to get things back up a bit quicker and that is it - I don't worry about it - it isn't worth the stress.
I just had labs done yestarday, so I will actually know how things are and what needs to be worked out.
As far as the burning in your neck - that could be a pinched nerve, a herniated disc in your neck, or just a pulled muscle if your sitting at the computer for long periods of time. I get it really bad and to be sure, my primary is sending me for an MRI of my cervical spine because it gets really bad - not only do I get the burning pain, but it is stabbing, and I get numbness, and loss of feeling down my arms.
Try not to get so stress, let things roll off of you - please see someone and get on an antidepressant - I know many cause weight gain but welbutrin actually causes weight loss
