You probably know I have lots of boots, from the minute I could start wearing them I did and have no stopped since.  I wouldn't buy them online, its too much of a hassle to see if they feel comfortable and fit properly, go to any big shoe store, DSW, TJ Maxx has lots of boots and shoes or whatever store is around you and try them on.  Once you find what you like you can always get them online if you think you can get them cheaper.  I always buy boots 1.5 to 2 sizes too big so I can wear lots of warm thick socks.  A lady asked me yesterday how I was walking around in platform 5 inch heeled boots on cobble stones and the reality is they are so comfortable and stable that I don't even think I am walking in them.  I am totally a boot person, shoes aren't my thing at all, although I do have a cute pair I bought over the summer and never wore, on today.

I am sure theres a perfect pair out there for you.
Good Luck!

I've been to DSW and Payless.  I tried on pair after pair.  It sucked.

I'm trying the online thing.

Zappos is the easiest way to shop for shoes and boots.  I sit at my computer and order a pair in the evening.  They always upgrade my order to free express shipping and the box is at my front door the next morning.  I try them on and if they don’t fit I just ship them back for free and order something different or a different size.

Shipping both ways is always free and you can have the UPS truck come and pickup or drop in a pickup box.  No driving, no shopping, no parking and no hunting for the right size and color. Plus recommendations that tell you about fit and comfort.

Thanks, everyone, for your input.

I just ordered these from Zappos.  They look very similar the ones I have.

I needed some oxfords too, so I ordered these Easy Spirits.

I'm looking for a comfortable pair of dressy black boots with a low heel.  I also want something that I don't have to be a contortionist to get into them.

Any suggestions?

One word: FRYE

I love boots of all types, but I found Frye to be the best and worth every damn penny. They make all sorts of boots: sexy ones, feminine ones, cowboy, work boots, motorcycle boots, etc. And they're comfy as all heck and made to last for years.

I am contemplating getting these for myself for my 1 year surgiversary:
