What happened to simply being nice???

I agree with the other posters that some people are just rude and without a proper filter. I also think that people just have no concept of what certain weights look like...I would say that is true for me too, really. I once had a friend I thought wore a 0/2 and turned out she was actually closer to a 6 most of the time.

I am 5'11" and 184. I would love to lose 9-20 more lbs. The other day a co-worker heard that and told me that I was "taking this too far." She then asked me to guess what she weighs...well, that little game led us to realize that she is only 2" shorter than me and about 40 lbs lighter!

So the moral of my story is that people don't know what they are talking about half of the time. And the less they know, the more freely they talk, it seems.

Best,
Lindsey

Thanks Lindsey.  I'm 5'8 and 185.  I still would like to lose about 25 more lbs.  I am smaller today than when I graduated high school and so I have always been a healthy person.  I think people are so used to be me being the "big girl" that they are having a hard time adjusting to the new me.

I think sometimes because people get jealous, they look at you and see this pretty womyn and you are shrinking before their eyes and either they fear you are going to run off with someone else or you will be too much of a hottie or whatever they want to hurt you with cutting remarks.  There are alot of haters out there, use them to you advantage as I do, every time they give you a look or a comment or anything double up your efforts to get exactly where you want to and to look exactly as you want too, and remember to smile in their face.  They hate that the most.  Whatever you do never pander to them, be polite and move on as if their existance in your world is only mildly tolerated.  It really can be a fun game if you play it right.  Enjoy looking beautiful!

I just looked at your profile and saw yor pic and you look great!! Don't let them fill your head with the comments, it's between you and your Doc. There will always be toxic people and comments, I just tell myself that those people's comments are comming from an uneducated (about the surgery) point of view. HANG IN THERE!!!!!

I while I agree that people can be sh*ts, I also think people have the same distorted view of what is healthy that affects both over and under weight people.  To see someone lose alot of weight changes the perception a great deal.  I like to give people the benefit of doubt that they are just worried about the health of individual.   For example even I am guilty of seeing a skinny person and thinking they need to eat a burger,  or while seeing someone who is stocky and thinking they look healthy, my perceptions are skewed by my own experiences.  Hopefully my filter is in and I don't say inappropriate things but not everyone has a filter and not everyone is malicious just misguided.  BUT if they are regular sh*ts and just being hurtful then screw them. Congratulations on your weight loss. I am at the beginning of my journey and look to the success of other as inspiration.

Don't let it get you down. As you're losing rapidly, it's a little shocking for others to see it all of a sudden as exciting as it is for you to see it yourself. Simply thank them for their concern, and assure them that your goal is in sight and you are in control.....then walk away, but not before acknowledging that new wrinkle they're showing on their face now, and ask them what plastic surgeon they're planning to see.
