It will be 10 years for me since I had RNY and for 9 years, I considered myself a complete success! :-) I have had a tough year. The loss of my mother, all my children gone from home (empty nest)... and my sisters illness's.... I have gained weight! I am weighing 174 lbs! and it may as well be the 272 I started with!!!! I turned 50 this year and am so angry with myself I can't hardly see stright!! I dont know if I can do it again... but, I am certainly going to try. My twin sister is having back surgery this week... as she has lost all use of her legs and I hope/pray that she will regain the use of her legs....so, at the close of the day, when  you kneel to pray... will you... remember... me......

There are a lot of us dealing with regain. Small or big... It is a constant work to keep it off...

You did it once, you can do it again.  Its all about the basics and getting your head back in the game.  Lots of us, with all types of surgeries, are right there struggling with you.

Will remember you and your sister in prayers for sure.

I'm sorry you've had such a rough year.

I don't understand why you say it might as well be the 272 you started with.  There is a BIG difference between 272 and 174!

You don't know if you can do what again?

Thank you Kelly.  Thank you for reminding me! I have gained 20 lbs in the last year... and yes, have had a rough year... but, you're right... there is a difference between where i started and where i'm at.... I dont know if I can lose it again....

Well, losing 20 pounds when you have the restriction of your surgery still would be very different than trying to lose 100 pounds before surgery or even different than losing 100 pounds after surgery.  I bet if you cut back on carbs a bit, increase your protein and get in a little exercise, you'll see those pounds start coming off.
