I had a severe bruising issue, not from high activity either. These purple bruises would appear on my forearms, the size of half dollars, without any trauma to my arms. I asked my surgeon's nurse and she suggested I take more vitamin K. I ordered some inexpensive K from Puritan Pride, 100mcg tablets.  I began by taking 200mcg daily. Within 3 weeks, the bruising was 80% gone.  I then upped it to 400mcg daily.  I still can get a bruise from arm trauma, but the mysterious other bruising has subsided greatly. I now may see a small light bruise on my arms, but not those spontaneous large purple ones.  Vitamin K may make part of your life easier.  I had dizzy spells, heart related, but a pacemaker solved my issue. Sorry to hear you are not able to do much. I had high hopes that after my surgery I'd be able to do so much more. I wanted to go hiking, rock wall climbing, roller skating, mountain biking, sky diving, take diving lessons and dive the old wrecks off the coast down here. So much that I wanted to do.

I can't do most of them, physically. I have serious back pain issues and have spent too much of my life super morbidly obese. I have done too much damage to my body. Arthritis seems to lead my life.

But I try to look at the things I can do. I can walk to the local grocery store instead of driving. Could never ever have done that before. I can walk up and down the beach at dawn or sunset with someone I love. I can shop at the mall. Physically I couldn't have done this before surgery. Just the walk from the handicap parking spot would wear me out so much I had to go home. I can go see a movie and actually fit into the seat. I can go to a restaurant and eat a meal without the food police whispering "she shouldn't be eating that". I can go to church and now worry about the pew making a creaking sound as I sit on it.

Try to focus on the things you can do now. I'm sure there is a lot more than you think. If nothing else know that now you will live longer and healthier for your family.

My oldest son and his beautiful wife are pregnant with my first grandchild. I now have a lap to bounce him in. I will be able to hold him and play with him. When he gets old enough I can make treats for him, tho now they will be healthier treats...lol. I can be a better example for him that I was for his dad.

I wish you all the best, and remember that you may not be able to do what you wanted to do but now you will live a longer and healthier life, and who know's maybe even a happier life! Good Luck!!!

Met my first goal, met my second goal, met my surgeons goal. Now I have a new goal!

How limiting is your heart condition? What does your heart doctor say about the activity level you can have? Can you swim? Can you do volunteer work?

I would suggest finding what you can do to expand your options- there are a lot of things to do that are low impact and have a low chance of causing bruising.
