What do you all think about this?

I think he's perpetuating the idea that we are all obese due to being sloths and gluttons.
Many of us have broken metabolisms, and that is why we have ALWAYS fought our weight. I never lived on a fast food diet. I ate a fairly healthy diet, and always was active until my increasing weight was actually making it impossible. Hell, I've been vegan, and even lifted weights competitively for years. That's not enough for everyone.
When he loses the weight afterwords it will have no useful information for people like me, since he knew he was able to maintain a normal BMI prior to eating like a pig. I couldn't. I assume he'll publish something based on stupid test, which will be worthless.

Well, it's his body, let him do what he wants. Looks like his motivation is money if you ask me. I'm pretty sure he's going to write a book and go on a talk show circuit and get every dime he can. I don't have a problem with his business model, but I have a problem with him giving the general public the erroneous impression that everyone is obese due to a poor diet/lack of exercise/no willpower- as we all know there's also medical reasons for obesity and they're not well understood. Not to mention there's the 10000000000million $ question of why diets don't work- his experiment will do nothing to answer that.
While I don't dislike the guy on a personal level, I hope he fails to loose the weight in order to prove a damn good point: diet and exercise doesn't always work, and sometimes there are metabolic forces at work that currently have no cure even if you do everything "right" with diet and exercise.
